Succubus autocast Seduce AI

I don't get to use the succubus that often in groups so as a result haven't had much experience with it using Seduce. Tried the succubus last night for a specific encounter but had a bad outcome.

We were fighting Lord Falconcrest and Otto in Stromgarde Keep. There was also a Syndicate magus with them. The game plan was for me to have the succubus Seduce the magus while the rest of the group fought the other two. I had Seduce set up to Autocast. Soon as the fight started, I left clicked on Seduce and the succubus successfully Seduced the magus.

I then focused on Falconcrest. Next thing I know the succubus is dead due to nukes by the magus. After the first Seduce wore off, the succubus apparently never tried to re-Seduce. I had her on Passive so she just stood there while the magus nuked.

So any idea why the succubus did not recast Seduce on the magus? I usually use the imp in groups. Main reason I would use a succubus is for Seduce. Just need to figure out how to get her to cast it without me constantly repeating the command.

Turning passive on means the pet will do no attack actions of any kind even if attacked including spells. This is the failsafe to keep your pet from getting you in deep trouble.

As for the AI, the succubus is pretty good at mezzing adds by herself (on Defensive AI), though targetting the add yourself and giving the command is the only sure way to get her to do what you want. You can rapidly switch targets by hitting the TargetLastEnemy key.

After rereading my post, don't think I phrased my question properly.

What I wanted to do was have my succubus lockdown the NPC caster with Seduce while we were focusing on the melee mobs. She successfully Seduced once, but when it wore off she didn't try to re-Seduce it even with Autocast turned on.

So what commands/settings should I use to have the succubus chain cast Seduce without requiring me to retarget the mob and manually casting Seduce every time it wears off?

Sayre has already answered your question. She won't do anything if you have her set to passive.

If you're depending on her to lock down an add, put her on defensive.

Succubus (on defensive) will auto-seduce a mob that hits you if you are already engaged with another mob, and seems to keep it seduced so long as you dont give her any other commands.

If you manually tell her to seduce a mob (whatever stance she is on), she will *not* auto-refresh it. She only does it once, then will go back to doing whatever else - which can include attacking the mob that you want seduced heh. It's pretty annoying. The only sure way to manage an add that you specifically want mezzed is to babysit her and keep mashing that seduce button as soon as you see it wear off the mob. It's particularly frustrating with the targetting range nerf from last patch.

Succubuss will not continue to chain cast seduce on a mob that you first seduced. I find it extremely easy to keep another mob mezzed while we work on the other. Seduce last ruffly 15secs and it is very hard to miss the hearts above there head. Just keep a little time in your head while you are on other mob and when its about time for it to wear off, get ready to order Succubuss to mez again.

On a side note, to make it even easier to target, map target nearest enemy to a key near where your hand always it, if you consistently press it, it will cycle through the targets, and helps so much when your on CC duty.

I've also had the succubus break her own Seduction by turning to cast a Lash of Pain. I haven't found best settings yet, obviously.

I think I'll try turning off autocasting on everything but Seduce and then putting her on aggressive. (Although I think I'll try that alone before I inflict it on a group.) Who knows...

Only way I have found to dependably lock down a mob using the succubus is to focus entirely upon manually seducing the mob which takes a fair chunk out of my dps.

If I'm soloing she usually does a good job of seducing the add but in a group situation the ditse more often than not will cast seduce on the mob that is dotted.

I always use seduce manually. I just can't trust the AI to do what I want it to. doesn't take much other then to tab over hit ctrl-1 (I changed it here for easy casting) and back on the original target. Getting fairly fast at it to from using it so much in PvP.
