SERIOUS ISSUE: Lag and Pet Pathing
This topic is crossposted to the Blizzard Warlock Boards and the VN boards. Feel free to crosspost other appropriate places.
Now that the holidays are over, the influx of new players can be felt on almost every server. That server strain has created lag that has exacerbated and highlighted an existing problem with our pets. Pet speed is such that they will lag behind you and eventually 'poof' if they get hung up behind some geometry that brings them past a ceartin distance from their owner. The recent server lag has made it such that pets will despawn much quicker than before because they seem to get lost easier and tend to go through pathing loops that bring them out of range from their master. Therefore the frustrating problem is that we lose pets at an alarmingly high rate. PLEASE Blizzard, fix this issue in some way!!! I understand the argument that pets were made slower than PCs for mostly PvP reasons, but I tend to disagree with that reasoning. - Couldn't the pet be coded to keep up with his/her master, but chase other PCs at another speed? - Couldn't the pet be coded to respawn back next to the warlock if it gets too far away, as long as it wasn't in attack mode? This is a very frustrating and serious issue. Three of our four pets require shards to summon. Since shards are a space limiting item, it is not fun having to re-summon pets on multiple occasions, especially when shards are at a premium. This issue places warlocks at a great disadvantage. Other Warlocks on this board, please keep this issue alive. We need some attention, and the current server lag issues have made things worse. |

SERIOUS ISSUE: Lag and Pet Pathing
We can't pvp and be on a mount..
Would be good to think to increase the pet speed when we are on our mount.. Or our pet has a buff who make him run at the same speed than us all the time.. but it lost the buff when we have the mode combat enable.. pvp or pve.. sumon pet is also a good way to settle this matter. useless to have a mount if we have to wait for our pet every 30 secs... |

SERIOUS ISSUE: Lag and Pet Pathing
I to can attest to this problem as with a few guildies that have noticed the same problem. I encounter myself stopping and waitng a good 3-4 secs just for my pet to catch up. It gets rather annoying and then the loss of shard is a pain in the arse

SERIOUS ISSUE: Lag and Pet Pathing
This is an especially difficult issue if you have a fighting strategy that relies on resummoning the Demon in the middle of combat, as is possible with Fel Domination.
I spend talent points to bring demon summon time down from 20 seconds to .5 seconds. Summoning lag is unacceptable in this case. |

SERIOUS ISSUE: Lag and Pet Pathing
hmm, I would settle for just fixing pets when using elevators. I never know if I am going to lose my pet when using the elevators in UC or TB or 1000 Needles. Most of the time, they poof. What is annoying is that the pets seem to path differently. I jumped off the watermill wheel in Stonetalon with my Voidwalker and he tried to walk all the way around and poofed. I jumped off with my Succubus and she floated down to me. It would be nice if our pets poof, if we could call them back without summoning and using a shard. Obviously, we shouldn't be able to exploit this, but a little help would remove some of the frustration.
