Re: Fel hunter and succy
VW is also great for BG pvp. In arena he is useless really, but in BGs the shield can keep you alive long enough to kill a few others and maybe capture a flag or node. I also use him to tank Chillmaw sometimes if its just me and any non-tanking types. He doesn't hold aggro at all, but the shield can mean life or death when the bombs come out;) |

Re: Fel hunter and succy
So who can confirm which is better? I've seen a lot of back-and-forth, but sadly haven't heard any dedicated answers. Just looking at the abilities, I would be inclined to assume that the Fel Hunter is the better Affliction pet due to its ability to play with your Affliction spells, but I've been reading that the Succubus is actually better despite her lack of ability to play like the pup does. Can anyone confirm which is the higher DPS of the two, please? |

Re: Fel hunter and succy
Summing things up for the confuzzled: Unless something (undocumented) has changed in 3.2, succy wins in raids (she benefits from all those melee buffs as well as the buffs on you), but felpup pulls ahead soloing with the fel intelligence buff and not being half as annoying to live with. All this is, of course, only pertinent to affliction. Destro still loves their imp-tastic-ness and demo runs with the felguard (or the VW when we're downing group quest elites the lock way ).Either way, Affliction seems to have evolved beyond dark pacting our pets. To make the puppy work for it, you need 2 points in Improved Dog and another talent in Dark Pact. To use life tap and let Siphon Life and Haunt keep you healed up, you need at most 2 in Improved Life Tap, which you tend to wind up with anyhow. Those extra points can go into the destro tree to lower the cooldown on the succy's Lash of Pain and one into demo to grab a little healing for your glass whipper. |
