Pets and Hearthstones

Ok, so I'd like a difinitive answer on this if possible. When I use my Hearthstone to go back home (Stormwind these days) sometimes my pet comes with me and sometimes he does not. So, which is it supposed to be? Is it a bug if he does/does not :?:

No one knows :lol: I usually get about 50%. Half the time, my pet makes it, half the time it does not.

I had read that when you hearthstone in a way that will give you a loading screen(continent to continent for example) you keep your pet...any other way and you lose it...

I can confirm that.

EVERY time I hearthstone to Ogrimmar from the other continent I have my pet. Everytime I hearthstone to Ogrimmar from the SAME continent, I lose the pet.

I think it's a bug when we get to keep our pet. I'm sure they didn't intend for the pet to travel with us, just like it dismisses the pet when you fly.

Personally, I think they need to adjust this and either send the pet with us, or allow us to get our shard back.

Hmm, I'm sure I'm getting the same 'loading screen' phenomena. I've just nto made a note of it. I'll pay attention next time. I would like it that we keep the pet when we hearthstone, as you know, it's just one more pain in the butt thing to do to get another shard.

I think the following is a related problem. I am bound at the inn in IF. I get the same results everyone is getting. I lose pet if I was previously in the Eastern Kingdoms and keep it if I was in Kalimdor. However, if I was in EK and lose the pet, I won't be able to see any other players, NPCs, mailbox etc. If I was in Kalimdor, I can see everyone with no problems. I can still see Trade channel chat. Only way I can get players/NPCs/mailbox to display is to summon another pet. As soon as the imp appears, everyone magically appears before my eyes.

I ve had that no npc / player thing before, but I dont think its related to the pet dissapearing or not... (it could and then I would certainly /bug)
but usually I feel like it has something to do with lag, and if I logout and back in its always fixed.

I've had the no NPC / Player thing happen, too. I find that find I run into a different area, they all appear.

For me, that means going from the inn to the bank in Ogrimmar. It's not that far, and it's usually where I'm heading anyways, and when I get into the bank, the bankers appear, and so do everyone else.

the no NPC thing is a lag issue. hearthing between continents will keep your pet for some reason, hearthing in continent will lose your pet.
