Felguard sucks
Taking a good look at all of our pets, they all serve a specific role: Imp: Range dps pet. Also a work around in Arena if your pet is simply getting trained and is impossible to keep up. You can simply pull out a phase shifted imp and he can't be touched. The 2 draw backs are, you lose utility and your healer(s) can't heal him, so you'll have to keep an eye on him and health funnel as needed. Voidwalker: Pretty good farming pet now imo. Makes aoe farming extremely easier as Destruction or Affliction, just use the shield and you're set. His threat is abysmal; however, he can tank elites. Main thing is you just have to dps extremely slow. Void is ok to pull out in PvP, especially against melee; however, I wouldn't since it's easy to spell steal, dispel, purge, etc. and you lose so much utility by not having your Felhunter or Succubus out. Succubus: Does pretty good damage in PvE. Useful for CC in heroics though most people don't even use cc in 5 mans now. Good cc in BGs and Arena for a Destruction warlock. It basically makes up for Destruction's lack of range on Fear and allows for more control. Felhunter: He's pretty much the PvP pet. The Felhunter requires the most finesse with managing devours for your team and of course Spell lock to deal with fellow casters. Felguard: He does pretty good damage against clothies; however, his damage isn't all that great against plate. He's a great pet for damage in PvE. He also is great for questing and farming, as well as being extremely useful to solo old content such as ZG, strat, etc. The problem with the Felguard is the lack of finesse needed to use him. You have a single 30 second cd to manage and that's it. The Felguard desperately needs another ability, some thing for the lock to manage. Useful utility ideas are: A snare, pummel, intervene, bleed, or even a devour. Also having more interesting talents in the Demonology tree that affect our pets more would be nice, talents similar to Demonic Empowerment. What would you do to improve the Felguard? Re: Felguard sucks
I think when specced and class played well, a Felguard is nice in PVP. |

It's well known by Blues, that Demonology is lacking, and they said they are going to fix it. |

Re: Felguard sucks
The reason to play demo in arena is for fun and/or because you like the specc. I love my demo build, even though its the worst for arena. |

Re: Felguard sucks
I wouldnt improve the felguard, I would improve the demo tree to work with the Felguard, past demonology warlocks did amazingly well with it. |

I agree that Demonology did well in BC, at least in PvE. It was ok at best in PvP in 5s; however, most locks went Sl/Sl because it had so much more control. I'm not saying the rest of Demonology shouldn't be improved too. I just think giving the Felguard another tool would help a lot in both PvE and PvP (Though this is mainly from a PvP PoV). |

Re: Felguard sucks
Heh, I don't think there's a lack of Demonology warlocks at high ratings because the spec is hard to play and takes skill. I think there's a lack of Demonology warlocks at high ratings because the spec lacks the needed tools to do well.
