Patch 3.3.0 to PTR brings 90% avoidance and imps w/o quests
2 Play Test pet changes: * Avoidance (passive): Now reduces the damage your pets take from area-of-effect damage by 90%, but no longer applies to area-of-effect damage caused by other players. * Summon Imp: This ability is now available from the trainer for level 1 warlocks and no longer requires a quest to learn. WoW -> Test Realm Patch Notes (Avoidance is currently 80%) |

To be quite honest, I coudln't care less about the imp quest changing. Its a stupid change, but in all honesty, I don't think anyone posting on these forums is ever going to have to go back there, and go, "I miss the imp quest :(". Right? ;p On the other hand, the avoidance change is quite significant! 90% less to boss AoE, but none in PvP? :o What I'd really like is for my imp not to get killed when an aoe puts a dot on it. eg fire bombs, on Gormok. Lava walls, Sartharion. Stuff like that. What makes me most disappointed is that blizzard tells us that in cataclysm, boss abilities won't hit the pet but they can get all the buffs in a raid that the players do. I don't see whats so hard about implimenting that now, rather than patching so pets take less and less damage, after telling us they aim to make it take none. |
