I heard a rumor - paranoia officially not an exploit?
Can anyone confirm this? That spamming paranoia is not an exploit? Someone told me it was officially said by a Blue on the forums.

... *resisting urge to kill* Anyway. I don't think they've ever said one way or the other. My opinion is that it is an exploit. They removed aggro from Tainted Blood because they didn't want Felhunter holding aggro as well as the Voidwalker. Now it holds aggro *much* better than the Voidwalker using this tactic. Draw your own conclusions. *shrug*

Doing a full text search on the Bug, General, and Warlock forums turned up nothing. So I'd say this rumor has no basis. If a statement from Blizzard doesn't exist, it can't be confirmed. I don't mean it is false, I just mean it cannot be determined. If I had to guess, though, I'd say that the paranoia thing is an exploit. You may not be punished for exploiting it, but that doesn't make it any less of an exploit. |

I know. I just was told in game last night by a guildmate that it was officially said to be "Not an exploit". Then again, so was rooftop camping. So make your own conclusions about how long it'll last :D.

See the little red dot on Soni's hat? That's actually embedded in his head. It's a button! You push it if you exploit the paranoia bug. After being pushed, Soni goes into a violent rage. His attack power is cubed, but his save vs. mods goes to -50! I kid, Soni, I kid :D |

If the devs wanted to come down on people using it, then they also would have said so. And they would have started taking action against warlocks that used it in game. But they haven't said anything. So my guess, and the most popular theory, is that the developers are ignoring it for the time being. When the long prophesied "huge warlock fix" goes in, then we'll see some sort of fix to paranoia that will make it impossible to hold agro through spamming. |
