I constantly get spammed by locks that pass me with my succy while soloing, they say that since im only 21 I dont have charm and she has terrible armour so I shouldnt use her. I prefer her to void cause she deals damage but I prefer her to imp cause she has more health than the imp. Most of my battles she tanks till my dots gain aggro then I do, since im a sta lock I have as much armour as the average warrior at my level. Am I doing this wrong? I dont die too often... Any help will be apprecieated!

Void is only good for ninjaing chests without clearing mobs, killing with demonic sacrifice, or as a soul link sponge while AEing.

Succubus all the way, She starts critting in the low 100s with her normal attacks around level 35 even without points in demonology.

The VoidWalker is used for slow, low-risk killing. You let it tank (way easier with Improved VoidWalker) and you DoT and Drain Life the mobs, finishing the fight at nearly 100% life and mana. The VW taunt is also very useful to get the attention off you when you make a bad pull.

The Succy is used for faster-paced, higher-risk killing. You let her take the first hits while you put DoTs and Immolate the mob. When the aggro turns to you, you drain tank it. The kill will be faster than with the VW, but you will have lower life and mana. The fact that the succubus has low armor is of little importance, since she can /kiss the mob to lose the aggro. The fact tat she doesn't have seduce right now is also of little importance while grinding mobs, unless you insist on consistently doing bad pulls on humanoid mobs .

I don't know how to use the Imp at its best. I tried and I didn't like it, so I didn't try further.

The Felhunter is not very useful in PvE. The way to use it is to let it tank the melee mobs for a while, the time for Tainted Blood to kick in, and then to let go your damage. You could also silence the caster mobs, but frankly Curse of Tongues does the job just as well, probably better.

Play it as you like, you are a warlock.

There is nothing wrong with soloing with the Succubus at that level, as Chernish pointed out, unless you're fighting nothing but Humanoids, and doing a bad job of it, the lack of Seduce isn't going to make or break you. I used my Imp most of the way in my lower level's as I could with stand the beating and he did nice damage, but I pulled agro straight from the start so he survived...

Everything with a Warlock depends on how YOU want to play, that's the best thing about us... if anyone tries to tell you how you should play just tell them you hope their mount self combusts.

I don't really like drain-tanking with succubus until you hit 40 and get dark pact. Then its off to the races with grind-efficiency.

I'll have to try her out again; so far (level 23) I've pretty much just been using the blueberry, who's big and ugly but does make fighting, uh, very safe. ;) I'm thinking I'll try the succy again, though... I feel bad about having this demon and still using the old VW.

I used both pets depending on how fast I wanted it to go. Succubus is high risk and high reward. Void is very low risk and good reward.

My situation is a little different. In my group of 60's that I group with we do not have a "tank" or "healer", so I use my Voidwalker. The group consists of Warlock, Mage, Rogue, Hunter and Paladin. We are capable of doing awesome stuff. What we do is let the Paladin off tank/heal while the Warlock and Hunter pets do the main tanking. This allows us to send our pets anywhere we need to to pull agro off someone (the Mage). With this setup we can do Tribute Runs and other instances with no problems usually.

I used the VW into 20, until I got my robe quest from Camp T. Fighting the Scorpion Swarmers (Field of Giants) is what turned me to the Succubus. With the Voidwalker, the swarmers would over come me with about 5-8 pets (solo), the kills were just too slow. But, when I went to Succy, they were lucky to get out 2 or 3 pets on me. (don't say "use Rain", with 8 pets on you, Rain is very tough to get off)

I only use VW in crawl dungeons with adds (in a group), he can pull a mob off of me if things get hairy. I'm sure my strat will change in the future, but for now, Succy is with me 98% of the time.

So, don't worry about what anyone says, if it works for you do it. ol
