Soloing Kroshius @ 50

Well I dinged 50 last night and spent some time today getting those essences before taking on Kroshius with a guildie and 60 warlock who was happy to help. Now I can summon my own infernal! yay! I started thinking about how the fight went and I think it might be possible to solo Kroshius at level 50. Before I started fighting him I enslaved a 52+ infernal to tank for us. I noticed that during the fight that my infernal tank was getting a lot of immunes spammed above his head whenever Kroshius was on him and at the end of the fight he had taken no damage. So I'm pretty sure that along with Kroshius's immolate, his punches do purely fire damage aswell. Corr + Siphon Life didn't steal aggro from my infernal. Curse of Agony I'm not sure cause I was purely trying to dish out as much damage as possible. So the theory is that in order to solo him, it would be enough to send in your enslaved 52 infernal and simply make sure that keeps aggro while you wear Kroshius down slowly. If you stuff up he can be feared according the quest guide. And if he can be banished too, then even better. Now what sucks is that I can't test this :( but I'm quite confident that it can be done. Maybe some fellow warlock's can add some thoughts to this?

I soloed him by enslaving the infernals, and yes he deals only fire damage.

Well, when we fought him. I believe we had a 45 priest, a 60 lock, and a 51 warlock(me)

We had to use a banishment + heal our infernal, wash repeat, tactic on him. Furthermore, at least at the time, ~4 months ago, almost any damage dealt to him would aggro him off an infernal, at least the summoned version. This is of course assuming my memory is intact.

You need to let the infernal deal 25% damage before you begin damaging him. And you will draw the aggro, but it should be possible solo , well it was for me.

I soloed him at 54 with banish+shadow bolt runs, demonic sacrificed VW, but no enlsaved infernal.

The problem I had on earlier tries was that Kroshius didn't want to focus on my enslaved infernal (since he can't hurt him) and when he stands there beating on you he deals quite massive damage. If you can last long enough for the enslaved infernal to get aggro, then maybe.

There will be a time when you draw aggro however and at 50 I don't think you would last long enough, considering his resists as well.

Mob AI is such that any enemy immune to their autoattack, gets automatically dropped to the bottom of their aggro list.

Example: Any fire elemental goes STRAIGHT for me when I tell my fire immune infernal to charge foward and it starts the fight.

Just like when the AI goes up against a sheilding paladin ;P

Soloing for some of the Fel Essences in the low 50's would've been too much work for me, so I ended up doing this in my mid 50s.

I soloed Kroshius at 55 by kiting him from the cul-de-sac to the Felwood path with CoEx, Corruption and Siphon (and the occasional Nightfall SB). It took a while, but it was fun since I hardly get to kite stuff.

well i registered just to post this info. and of course its a great site for locks. I did my kill kroshius quest at level 52 w/ my level 60 warrior friend, but this strategy would work w/ just about anyone who can deal damage to the infernal. simply enslave kroshius, challenge your friend to a friendly duel, and set the infernal on passive. said friend proceeds to beat on the minion until he's just about dead, then you release the infernal and finish it off. i managed to get in one cos before i enslaved, and dropped a quick curse of agony before it croaked. then of course ran straight to XR and summoned my new minion and waited about 5 minutes for the show to start.

I solo'd kroshius just last night (at level 55).Ã‚ I did somewhat the same technique being a demo warlock with the abyss shard. It wasn't easy and did take a few tries (got it on the 4th try). What I did is first I used my abyss shard to summon a VW I figured I would be using enough shards keeping my enslaved infernal so might as well save what I could. Then I went around the area and cleared all the beasts and horrors that were wandering to help prevent adds. They do spawn fast so no matter what I had to deal with one of them but it was easily banished while I continued to fight. Once I had cleared the area I sacrificed the VW for regen and grabbed the nearest infernal.Ã‚ I parked the infernal right at krosius body and used the flame. I got back as far as possible and as soon as krosius turned red sent my infernal at him.Ã‚ Kroshius of course ignored the infernal and came right at me but I was ready and I feared him right off the bat. After he was feared I hit him with Curse of Agony and corruption and just let the infernal keep hitting him. Soon as the fear let up I hit him with a death coil and waited till he came back. Feared again and reapplied Curse of Agony and Corruption. Since the enslaved infernal was hitting him for 3-500 a pop krosius finally aggro'd him long enough to rest a second and give my fear diminish return enough time to wear down. Once he reaggro'd me I just feared Curse of Agony and corruption. Of course by now I had one of the elementals back and kept it banished. About the 4th Curse of Agony and Corruption kroshius was at 10% so I spammed shadowbolt to finish him off.

My guildies told me it couldn't be done and couldn't believe it when I told it I had done it. The first three times were just bad luck. First time I got agro'd by immolatus (bad enough going against kroshius but the other named infernal as well ouch).Ã‚ Second time I got agro from two elementals and my infernal kept breaking enslave (figured he was higher in resistance so third time I got another one). Third time was close but just as I was about to finish Krosius (at 11%) infernal broke and another wandering infernal showed up to. Key thing is to keep calm and just go with the flow. Demonic Sacrifice helped regen what damage I did take. In regards to enslaving if I enslaved an infernal and it broke right away before I could start I would banish and run off to break combat and let it reset. Then go back and try again.

Was one of the funnest things I have ever done in this game and makes me proud to be playing a warlock. Not many classes can solo an elite like kroshius when at an even level.

In celebration I decided not to unleash my infernal on xroads. Instead I went to goldshire and low and behold a low level guild was there having a guild meeting. I never saw players scatter so fast in my life. They never expected an infernal to drop right in the middle of their pow wow. They seemed to have fun though so I don't think they were to upset.

I just did it on my latest warlock at 52. I enslaved a level 54 infernal in the area then head up to Kroshius' body. Park the infernal next to him and reignite Kroshius. Then i back up as far into the canyon as I can, and sic the infernal on him. Then Fear and Dot him up. When he starts heading back fear again. Just kept repeating this. Used Death Coil once, life tapped as needed and drain lifed. SB'd when Nightfall procced. Never had to worry about adds, he usually never ran out that far while feared, might have been just lucky. I love being able to do this. Makes me powerful, taking out higher level elites like that.
