Auto-cast Seduction

Hello everyone,

The last couple of days, (since the patch), I have been using the Succubus both to Solo and in Groups. Ignoring comments from my guild that 'good' Warlocks have Seduction on manual cast, I have never really had a problem with the Succubus mezzing the wrong mob, that was until now. I'm not blaming the patch, but it's the only point of reference I have really.

Prior to the patch, with Seduction on aut-cast, if I was killing a mob and a second one came and hit me, the Succubus would mez the add. If I was killing a mob and a second one came up and hit her, she would mez the add. Everything worked fine, it was nice when solo'ing as I didn't need to worry about changing targets, stopping my wand etc to mez. In groups, 99.9% of the time she mezzed the right one.

Now, over the past two days when I have been using her, if I was killing a mob and a second one came up and hit me (or her), she would mez the first mob, the one I have placed all my DoT's on. Naturally seduction would break, and again, she would seduce the first mob. I have been forced to take it off auto-cast and do it all manually now. I'm not sure if this is the way it's meant to be, but my feeling is that if I am meant to do it manually, why give me the ability to make it auto-cast in the first place?

Is it just me that is noticing this change?

Re: Auto-cast Seduction

I also noticed this happening solo recently. I had never had her try to mez the first mob I attacked until after the patch. Now she consistently tries to mezz the one I am targeting. It is almost like the auto-seduce is broken. I have to use it manually if I decide to use it at all. I have been using Big Blue more and more though cause the mobs I'm drain tanking (Elites) hit a bit too hard for her to take many hits from them and I like long term consistent grinding anyway.

I'm having the same problem....and I believe you are correct, it's been since the patch.

Re: Auto-cast Seduction

Leave succubus on passive, and use a macro to CastPetAction(6); on your target.

Seduce your target:
/party Seducing %T - Don't attack the mob with the hearts! <3 <3
/script PetAttack();CastPetAction(6);
/cast Curse of Shadow(Rank 2)

If you are attacking something else and seduce breaks,
Re-Seduce the target:
/script ClearTarget();CastPetAction(6);TargetLastEnemy();

Bind those two macros to two keys (I use y and you) and you're set.

Re: Auto-cast Seduction

Thankyou Belamort, however I was wanting to know if this is a change, not a macro to make it work. It worked perfectly fine before the patch and now it does not. Previously I didn't have to switch targets to seduce, the Succubus would automatically seduce the add, basically meaning I didn't even have to do anything.

Thankyou Fleshrot and Teira, it's good to know it's not just me experiencing this, I was really starting to think I was going insane. I guess it's just something they have changed in the patch without noting it, whether it's intended or an accident I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Auto-cast Seduction

Yeah it was so nice when you were fighting...along came an add and she would just turn and seduce so you could finish off the first one. Now when the adds come she keeps trying to seduce the target I'm on that is DoT'd....even with Servitude Mod and Smart Seduction turned on...

PVP and grouped yeah manual. But if your just out grinding mobs solo I don't see a problem with putting it on auto.
