Soothing Kiss

Hi everyone, I am new to this site - found it through the druids grove. I just started an Undead Warlock (lv23), and love it so far. Warlock has to be the most fun class in the game. Though my main feral druid and alt shadow priest are a blast as well.

Ok so on to my question:
Last night I was able to make it down into wetlands to get the guy's heart for the succy quest. I now have a succy! WOOHOO. I was all excited, and bought her first book, soothing kiss. So now, at lv 23, she has lash of pain and soothing kiss. I understand that LoP does shadow damage, but what exactly does soothing kiss do? It says that it soothes the target making it attack something else. Does this mean that if it is attacking the succy, and she casts soothing kiss it wil turn on me? Is this kind of a "ghetto fade" for the succy?

Also, when do I get seduction (I think thats the cc that succy has)? I think I'm gonna stick with my vw for solo'ing and imp for grouping until I get seduction, as both succy and I are kinda squisy atm.

I think Seduction is 26 or 28.

Soothing Kiss is nice sometimes. Your Succubus doesn't have as much life as the VW so it can go down quick. If you'd rather have her not die and waste a shard, you can cast Soothing Kiss and the MOB will come off her and likely attack you.

Prevents her death.

I think the best time I have ever used soothing kiss is when I am using her in groups to CC adds or extras that get pulled. When they break and go towards her just as the tank is about to go for the mob I will soothing kiss the target and it allows the tank to get agro quicker.

I never have used it in PvP I wonder if it will make the player lose its target if they attack her. Not like its not hard to retarget but could through them off for a sec. May try this some day just to see.

56 now and have always have this ability turned off and have never ever used it. I suppose I should try it but just never seen the need.

personally I use the succy for dps and dps only, I always have smooth kiss turn off b/c I want the pet to tank for a few sec at begining of the battle so I have time to get my dots in. the only time I ever use smooth kiss is if my pet about to die hehe but most time it lose aggro after I though all dots in anyway and no need to use smooth kiss.

Soothing Kiss does, in fact, make the mob turn on you if you're the only two in the area (and you've done something to give any aggro at all).

This is a good thing. Succubi are fragile, and easily broken. You want her dishing out lots of damage, not dying. As a warlock, you have great control over your health, and methods of mitigating damage if necessary, or killing your opponent quickly if necessary. You shouldn't be worried that her power is turning them on you occasionally.

Sometimes I turn the power off if I think she can take a few hits, but it really shines in instances when you've got warrior support.

An imp is the preferred pet in any instance where you have warrior support, unless of course you are in a lower level to yours instance where HP are not a factor. At 60 with imp imp, group members get 600+ HP from bloodpact, which in the big scheme of things comes in alot more handy then the dps advantage to the imp.

My succ's soothing kiss is always turned off, when you are using fear kill method with a suc you will find the suc will break fear easily after which the mob will come back at you, I find hitting soothing kiss as you fear a mob the suc will still continue beat up the mob but it will not break the fear as easily. Just an observation, I may be wrong.

Succu and kiss = My warrior Hunter and rogue killer ol

Felhunter = Shamy kills all the other things

The onlt thing i cant kill is pallas but im a ally so i never meet them in AB...... lucky me

I think you must be talking about seduce. Soothing Kiss doesn't do anything to players - it doesn't even make them drop target. It's a PVE ability - kind of like the VW's torment or suffering.
