Spam Blizzard with requests for infernal/doomguard changes for 1.10

Take away diminishing returns,
guaranteed 5 min enslave for both infernal and doomguard everytime,
self summon doomguard (if i had a group of 5 i wouldn't need the doomguard anyway) or at least no one dies during summon.

I was soloing elite bugs in silithus with the void walker but every kill required me to sacrifice the void, so i summoned the infernal, now i could kill them without losing my pet every time, but now i have to kill my pet in 10 min or so, due to diminishing returns. The doomguard would have been great because bugs are melee and cripple would help, but of course i cant summon one on my own unless i play the curse of doom game and hope for the best, but against thses bugs if i waited for the curse to make the killing blow, i would likely not survive the introduction to my new friend the doomguard.

Lets unite and demand these changes to our upper level pets.

Re: Spam Blizzard with requests for infernal/doomguard changes for 1.10

Blizzard has stated they do not know how to really fix our high end pets. There is another poet here in the forums with great debate on the use of the high level pets.

I use my dommie when i am soloing elites and can usually keep him safely for 20 minutes. I usually try to keep them for 30 mins if I am in an open area with alot of running space. They break the enslave randomly for me after about 20 minutes. I am heavily specced demon though,

Blizzard is not going to remove t he risk that our high level summons impose on us for summoning them. Blizzard has a new post discussing Warlock issues on the official forums.

I can't believe that our Blizzard assigned Warlock Reprasentative has not summoned a DoomGuard before. He should be forced to go solo to silithus and first find 4 more people that are willing to die for him to summon the damn thing, then attempt to do the hive brains quests using just the doomguard. Oops it broke on the way to the hive and you died... oh well wait and hour and do it again, you must complete the quest with only the doomguard.

If he does we will see changes to the DG immediately.

Re: Spam Blizzard with requests for infernal/doomguard changes for 1.10

Being a relatively inexperienced lock inregards to our high levels pets, a lowly level 54, the only infernals I've played around with are the ones I've enslaved in the wild or seen wandering around Warsong without their masters. That being said from reading what others have posted and seeing them in action I'd like to see Blizz do something. As I see it, from my limited play time with one of our high level pets the risks and or hassles associated with controlling those pets is greater than the benifits they give.

I'd like to see them do something to our high level pets so the risks don't out weigh the rewards. Whether that be longer enslave time or slower diminishing returns or a completely reworked system I really don't care, something, anything would be nice. And on a slightly different but still pet related note they seriously need to fix the bug in the battle grounds where I keep respawning with my imp or no pet at all. My succy/felhunter was alive and well when I kicked the bucket I should respawn with it. I know Blizzard has said (at some point) they like us locks but I'm not feeling the love, nope no love at all.

And I agree, that is crap that our Blizzard assigned representative hasn't summoned a Doomguard. So where and at whom do I direct this storm of spam I'm about to unleash?

I made new thread on the suggestion site http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/bo...ow-suggestions, i figure if every warlock in the game made a new post there they may take notice. If you were a developer would you rather have content that was overpowered and being used or content that totaly sucked and is not used. I hardly see how a better summoning proceedure and a guaranteed enslave time is going to break the game. Make us get 5/5 improved enslave for the guaranteed enslave timer.

I also suggested that if balance was a concern, make locks get 5/5 improved enslave for the guaranteed enslave time with no diminishing returns. This ensures that a lock has sacrificed potential spell power for better pet control. As it is what good is improved enslave as a lev 60? winterspring and blasted lands are the only places i can think of with lev 60ish demons, and when do i go there?

Re: Spam Blizzard with requests for infernal/doomguard changes for 1.10

Disminishing is putting it lightly.....I have had my Infernal break on me in less than a minute on the first enslave (after the initial 5 min). Since I only use him for stuff I couldn't kill otherwise, I pull him out to solo an elite then anchor him and run off. He's too unpredictable for long term use solo.....he has killed me more than once. If he was on a reliable timer, it would be a different story.

I dont havea doomguard yet do i cant really comment on that, however with my inferal i only really use him in Heavy combat situations where i dont really expect him to survive the full 5 min. Here is hoping that the new 61-70 talents allow us to summon and infernal or better yet a doomguard without all the risks.

Re: Spam Blizzard with requests for infernal/doomguard changes for 1.10

I felt guilty just asking my guildmates to help me with the doomguard quest, because its EXTREMELY likely I will NEVER use this spell as it currently works. Utterly useless... I might use an Infernal pet on a big boss fight, just because I know it wont live 5 minutes but otherwise, completely useless. 5 minutes is a pathetically short period of time for charm, and thats a best case scenario. You dont see Hunter pets going batshit after 5 minutes and attacking their owners...

Just two more "back of the book" spells.

If its true our Warlock class rep has never used those spells then it just shows how useless they are. Maybe he isnt stupid, just too gutless to complain.

Re: Spam Blizzard with requests for infernal/doomguard changes for 1.10

When I got my Inferno at level 50 I decided to try him on something tough and decided the burning steppes would be a good place to start. I flew to Morgans vigil and walked down the hill and the first thing I see is a great big level 51 elite dragon flying by. I watched for a bit and cleared out the scorpions and doggies first then waited for the dragon to come back.

When it got right in front of Morgans vigil I called down Inferno and set him loose on the dragon. They both proceeded to beat the living hell out of each other and anything I threw in got resisted. So Curse of shadows, Corr, Siph life, a couple of shadow bolts, nightfall, tap, tap, drain life, soul fire, inferno dying, health funnel, healthstone, inferno dies, death coil, shadow bolt, dead dragon.
Woot. Finished with about 1/2 life and not much mana.

Have done it a few times now and a couple of times on the dragonspawn and wyrmkin a bit east of Morgans vigil. Although they have beaten me a few times. Adds make it deadly or at least a non winner (if ya lucky you can make it into Morgans vigil and the dragon will disengage, although funny the adds wont. They follow you in and the gaurds dont help.)

Also tried enslave demons for the first time there too. On the little fire demons in the lava in the pass on the way in from redridge mountains. Quite funny I thought. Just enslave one and they all come running. I just kept him occupying one or two and did the rounds dotting them all up then picked one to drain and when there was only one left let it kill the enslaved one while I stood back and slowly dropped its hp so when the enslaved one died it was no problem to finish off the last one. Im not sure I could have dealt with all 5 of them any other way.

It seems the way I will use this pet is for an occasional blast at some high xp and a way of getting through red/elite quests on my own. The one hour cooldown is the only really harsh thing I find about this pet. Its great as a sacrificial damage dealer to use to get really hard mobs health way down so I have a chance of killing it with my spells etc. And keeping me from being hit in the process. I dont like the idea of letting the inferno survive and having him turn and smash me the way he does to the mobs.

I know its probably not the intended way to use an inferno but after having read everything I could find about him it was the only way I could think of to get some use out of him. It is heaps of fun too. If a bit pants soilingly scary at times. LOL

I they made him a 15 min cooldown (or even 30) it would make it at least more of an option rather than just an occasional frivolity.

Im sure I can use him to scare a few people next time I go to the Bg's at least. Although even there I am hoping he will die long before the 5 mins is up.

Interested to see what people think.
