what pet people use for PVP?

I acturally just got the new doggy pet. I hear a lot about this one but still have not have much exp using it yet. I love my succy when I go solo PVE (I do drain tanking, so the more dps the better), also love her for PVP since she can mez the enermy so I can acturally bandage myself, potions etc. On the other hand, I hear a lot about the doggy and seems like lots people perfer use the doggy over the succy when PVP. I just would like to get some advise or opinion on what pet use in PVP? What I looking for is what pet people usually use on PVP and how does the pet help? (other than those that sac them hehe).

Re: what pet people use for PVP?

Once I got paranoia, spell lock, and devour magic the felhunter became my pet of choice. He's not too useful without these abilities but he's amazing with them.

I'm amazed that one pet can make such a huge difference when fighting so many classes. Rogues and druids look so cute as the try and sneak past me only to get immolated while they are stealthed. If you ever want to see a frustrated shadow priest, lock out their shadow school when they are casting. Plus he eats fear and magic shields, what more could you ask for? Recently I've set him to passive and just tow him around for the magical effects.

Re: what pet people use for PVP?

everyone here is correct

As a Master Demonologist/Soul Link Spec Warlock, I find the puppy is great +60 to resists (keeps magic damage from hitting me), spell lock, paranoia, etc combined with more HPs than Succy increases the puppy's survival rate when I'm being beaten on (and as I've said elsewhere in PVP players ignore pets and stick to their owners like a fat kid on a t-bone).

Now the Succy's seduce is GREAT for when you are being double teamed, or if you are guarding the flag and need to stop the flag carrier long enough to kill his defenders and whoever else might try to take flag and go (WSG obviously). However, as I just mentioned the Succy can't take a hit, and with SOul Link will die VERY fast.

VW is only good for Damage Shield, as it's tanking ability is negated by the Intelligence of your opponents (see earlier coment about fat kid on t-bone).

Re: what pet people use for PVP?

so I guess I should just go w/ succy till doggy get good abilities, then switch over. o well respect when he get good I guess. what level he acturally get the useful skills? I mean what level should I respec and swtich over (current I have points into VW and Succ, need to relocate those points once I switch, I do want to be SL lock).

Re: what pet people use for PVP?

I don't know that you'd actually want to respec for the guy - he's great in PVP but hohum for the level grind. I still use my Succubus for leveling. I don't have any points in Demon and he seems to work alright. If you are going SL anyways it sounds like you have your points already in the right tree.

I think you get paranoia at 42 and spell lock at 36. I'm not sure about devour magic (he may come with it - I didn't touch him until he got spell lock).

Re: what pet people use for PVP?

I'm MD / Ruin on Horde side.

I really prefer using Succubus because it can be used to pwn any player plus it gives me 10% more damage. I two or three-shot mages so having them seduced is better for me than felhunter.

Felhunter is too situational for my liking and I don't want to get ganked by a rogue or slaughtered by a warrior.

If I was 1v1 against a priest or warlock I would consider quick-summoning one though.

Re: what pet people use for PVP?

hmm may be I just through all my points into talent that improve all pets instead of having pts into specific pet. then later respec again if I find out I use one pet more than others. I guess I just have to test out all the pets b4 I can make a final decision.

Re: what pet people use for PVP?

Mostly succy, as she is good vs. all classes. Imp in Battlegrounds. Felhunter? Rarely..only if I know I'm gonna whack some casters beforehand. Voidwalker, yeah, only if I'm getting ganked while im actually using him ;)
