where do i get the fellhunter quest ?

Finding the guy in the barrens (Strahd) is the start of the felhunter quest.

Strahad is in ratchet just above and behind the bank, there are 3 parts to this one (2 parts of a book) one is in a cave in 1000 Needles and is hard to find its in the cave with the centaurs around it. i can't remember the caves name its north from freewind outpost, the other part of the book is in southshore around the murlock camps south of the mine, it is a book laying out in the open on the shoreline the third part is to gather 3 channeling rods. this quest it's pretty simple. If you enter Wetlands ,from the north, continue the trail south until you reach Angerfang Encampment. The orcs that have the rods are the Dragonmaw Bonewarder, to spot them they carry a staff. They have a minion, a skeleton. This quest it's fairly simple. After this you'll go to Ratchet to get your summon.
Of course the alliance may be a different quest this is what i had to do to get my fellhunter on the Hord Side ol

i really really hate having to go to the barrens .. as alliance

are there certain things you must do before you get the quest? I'm level 49 and have yet to get my succubus/felhunter. So I'm now going back to get them, however Strahad in Ratchet won't give me anything. I did one quest that wanted me to go to Desolance and get the soul of a felhunter/infernal, which I did get the felhunter one. After that none of those people have quests anymore. Am I missing something? I'm horde, undead, does this make anything different?

I got the start of the fellhunter quest in the Undercity from one of the Warlock trainers or was it in Oggrimar i cant remember but they started the quest, which reads as below...

The Binding
Level 30 Warlock
Obtained at level 30 Horde/Alliance
Using the Tome of the Cabal, summon and subdue a felhunter, then return the Tome of the Cabal to Strahad Farsan in Ratchet.
Tome of the Cabal: 0/1
If you're are sufficiently prepared, then we should begin. Let me explain the process to you.

I will begin by creating the basic summoning circle. When that is finished, my acolytes will use the rods of channeling to create the greater circle.

Once that is done, read the incantation from the Tome of the Cabal, and the felhunter will be pulled forth. Be careful, <name>. A felhunter is a powerful foe, and I'd like to see you keep your head on your shoulders.

I suppose it's fairly possible if you just ground your way up the levels and never paid attention to the quests...If you outleveled the quest, you'd never see the "!" over the trainer's head, and, since there are two trainers there, you might not click on the right one.

Just one of many reasons that the level grind is not the best idea. Quest is best!

Oh, and it's really not all that bad to get to Ratchet as Alliance at 30th level. Stick to the roads going down to Booty Bay, not many monsters should attack, as the roads are generally fairly clear. Take the boat from there. That's if Ashenvale isn't your thing (which I wouldn't blame you).
