Succy and lvling

Hi,
I am currently spec'd SM/Ruin, but I was thinking about maybe going Demonology/Affliction or Destruction for a change of scene, I am nearing 60 so my biggest focus is on lvling. Anyways I was wondering if I spec'd for Imp Succy would my Succy be able to hold aggro well enough for me to do my normal routine: Immolate, Corruption, Curse of Agony, then Drain Tank. Thanks

Re: Succy and lvling

err if you swtich to demo, do you still keep fel concentration? if not, hard to do drain tanking. Anyway, having imp succy is always good. for one thing, it can do more damage b/c slash get 30% incrs. also longer mez helps a lot on PVP. One thing I don understand is y you want succy to hold aggro? I though the main point of drain tanking is to have you do the tanking and your pet do the damage? I am demo build w/ fel concentration, and I do drain tnaking as well. usually i will have smooth kiss turn off and I pull w/ Curse of Agony. send succy in at the same time (she will grab aggro right alway unless her slash get resisted) and start cast corruption and imo. by the time I get imo out, succy will loss aggro already and mob will come to me while I start wanding. when I lose some HP i start drainking all the while succy doing tons damage. its good to have imp succy if use her a lot like I do (I use succy almost exclusively, unless I am in group or raid that they want imp as pet for the buffs).

Re: Succy and lvling

I actually found that I am using my Felhunter most now, pretty much for everything. I just send it on in and wait for Tainted Blood to stack up, then put on my DoT's, Life Tap, then drain till it gets near me, one Searing Pain, and Drain Soul. I am killing much faster and am having a very small downtime. My Felhunter usually takes a beating, but I can heal it without taking a chunk out of my HP. As for PvP, I am almost unkillable with Soul Link and Demonic Embrace, I usually have around 1-4 deaths per BG at level 51. The longer life means I can inflict more damage, all in all I think it was a pretty good idea to do the switch, even if I don't use my succy

Re: Succy and lvling

In my experience (and I recently gave the 31 SL a go at 47), the succubus levels much better than any other pet, certain specific circumstances aside. Meaning that when hunting ice spells throwing undead nothing beats a fellhunter - though it is close.
I can't even say that the effect of a fully stacked Tainted Blood makes much of a difference.

To the OP: yes your succubus will hold aggro pretty well, just remember with her out hunting becomes more of a bouncing game ;)
