Problem with Doomguard

I just recently got my curse of doom but can't seem to enslave my doomguard, what am I doing wrong? I dismissed my pet beforehand so that is not the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

you can't enslave it because he resists a lot? if so i suggest casting CoS on him, this improves your chances a bit and makes him less likely to break.
also banishing if he get's too close so you can move out a bit could help a bit.

Are you sure you are using the highest rank Enslave Demon spell? If you've forgotten to update your shortcut, it won't enslave.
Edit: Also, you don't need to dismiss your pet manually, it will get dismissed when you start casting Enslave Demon.

wow, I still haven't had a Doomguard spawn from CoD. are you getting resist messages on enslave, or is the Doomguard just not spawning for you?

Thanks for the replies.

I got it to pop three times so far. I am using rank 2 enslave demon that is all I have. The resist message is "your charm failed" or something like that.

I have had the same problem at level 60 using ED 3. Also gets interupted quite a bit when a Doomy spawns at your feet and smacks you right away. I wish that we could have the "chance of summoning doomguard" removed from this spell. or at least make this version of the doomguard a little more useful. i hadn't thought of casting CoS on it though which is wierd because it's the first thing i cast if an enslave fails on a mob.

Hello there, i`m kinda having some problems with the doomguard myself and i don`t wanna start a new tread so i guess necro is better :P . Anyway i keep trying to summon one but something happens last night, i tryed like 5 times to get one . 1st i did the ritual the "soulwell" thingy and the party cliked , started channeling , 1st attepmt i received around 6k damage and stoped and nothig apeared ,next run the priest received 6k damage and still nothing and so on . I could not get one to spawn if any of you locks know what was the problem or something please help ^^

Yeah I've had the same problem Vidya. I cast the ritual, people click, someone pays the health cost, the reagent is consumed and the cooldown is triggered, but no doomguard. It doesn't seem to be able to automatically dismiss my pet. The only times I've been able to make it work properly is when i manually dismiss my pet first. I assume this is a bug and that Blizz will fix it, in the meantime I would suggest dismissing your pet prior to starting the ritual.

Also, whoever wanted curse of doom to always spawn a doomguard, your wish will be granted in Wrath. New ranks of CoD will always spawn a doomguard if it kills the target and if the target yields xp. So no more spawning them off boars in starting zones, but they should be more readily available elsewhere.

according to the spell list on mmo-champion all ranks will spawn a doomguard at a 100% chance...
