Enslave Infernal question

I did not see any post on this kind of question....I been thinking if this idea would work, just checking if anyone have done it?

Lets say that I'm in a group of 3-4 warlocks and I summon a Infernal,
after my enslaved Infernal brake free, can another warlock in my party enslave the Infernal? And if so, what would be the time frame of that enslavement? Also, does the enslavement formula is set from the Infernal or Warlock? The idea, is have an Infernal with the party for more then 20 mins.

I been thinking it would be cool to have 4 warlocks to town with 3 differnt pets plus Infernal.

The other diminishing returns implementations are target based, not caster based. I'm pretty sure another warlock wouldn't have anymore luck enslaving it than you would. You could, however, enslave twice, then banish a few times while the timer resets.

Re: Enslave Infernal question

I havnt had the chance to try it out again but it did work for me, i was helping a couple of other warlocks gather the mats for their robes of the void and we got swarmed by satyrs an alliance farmer pulled em into us, i summoned ye old infernal and sicced it on the alliance farmer and proceeded to do some crowd control on the satyrs and when the infernal broke free we had ended combat and i mounted my horse to draw it away from the party and it followed, after a minute or 2 i stopped and dismounted, and it faded out without attacking nor could i re-enslave it. It might be a bug in the game, but it seems to me a good way to pull the infernal out of a party and have minimized the possable damage to the party and got rid of a problem that could cause a wipe in a uncontrolled infernal, i dont know if any one has had a similar occurence but it may be a good topic for later use on how to get rid of demons without getting killed in the process. this may not be the right thread for this but i thought i would mention it

I could have sworn that the 'banish a few times to reset the enslave diminishing returns' trick was removed in a patch well over a year ago. In fact, if I recall correctly it disappeared right about the same time that people started talking it up as a viable tactic to actually get some mileage out of the Infernal and Doomguard.

A few other odds and ends...

You can't cast Enslave if you already have a pet out. In fact, you can't cast Enslave if your old pet's dead body is laying on the ground and hasn't vanished yet (which takes a few seconds).

The Enslave duration on any given cast is a random amount, but it's always shorter than the previous Enslave. This means that if your first Enslave lasts for one minute, none of your subsequent Enslaves on that same demon will last for any longer than one minute.

The reason that the Infernal despawned is because the Infernal has the same anti-kiting code that all of the other outdoor mobs in the game have. You can only pull any given outdoor mob so far without doing damage to it. Otherwise, the mob goes into Evade mode and returns to it's spawn point with its hate list wiped. Since an Infernal with no one on its hate list automatically despawns, your Infernal vanished the moment that it 'returned to its spawn point'. This is a useful trick for getting rid of an infernal. But if you're with a group, it's generally just easier to kill it. To paraphrase one mage who picked off an Infernal that I'd abandoned (banish, walk away, and wait for it to go into Evade mode - he picked the Infernal off before it followed me far enough), the Infernal is a lot weaker than most people think it is.

The stun is neat. And they're great fun to drop into the middle of a group of enemies due to the fire aura (which also messes up spellcasting and works even while the Infernal is banished). But they're a paper tiger at best.
