Permanent Enslaved Pets

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...=1#post1175981

Unfortunately I cannot narrow down all the posts for the fire-wall impaired. Let's just say I tried it with the doomguard in felwood and I must say, it was nice to finally have the doomguard for grinding and not have to worry about it breaking. Really, a perma enslaved doomguard was not overpowering and neither would an infernal be. This nice trick works with any enslaved pet it seems. Best to take advantage of this bug before Blizzard nerfs it. Maybe, just maybe we can use this to convince Blizzard that an infernal and DG are not overpowered to be perma enslaved.

It makes no sense either considering that they have an attack and casting speed penalty. It'd make sense if they had no penalty and could hit like trucks but a DG hitting for low 200s doesn't strike me as overpowering. A succubus can almost hit that much and at least she stays. Wondering what you other locks think of this new big development?

Re: Permanent Enslaved Pets

This does indeed work, tried duel with priest, got mindcontrolled and attacked my infernal, after that the "enslaved" icon was gone, and the infernal and i will be together until death do us part..or until blizzard nerfs it

Re: Permanent Enslaved Pets

Did they remove this? I went to the look and it was a blank WoW page. Anyone have a synopsis of how to do this? Atleast until they fix it tomorrow morning probably.

Re: Permanent Enslaved Pets

from the forum if you can't access it:

I have tested with the priest's Mind Control as well, and I've learned that the following NEEDS to take place:

1) When you enslave the demon, challenge the priest to a duel.

2) Make sure you have your demon's stance set to defensive.

3) Tell the priest to mind control you and make you attack your enslaved demon.

4) If the enslaved demon attacks you back, congratulations, you've correctly activated this game mechanic!

I have tested these steps numerous times. I've permanently enslaved 2 Jadefire Hellcallers, 2 Jadefire Rogues, 1 Jadefire Trickster, 2 Infernal Bodyguards, all using the Cause Insanity ability that the Jadefire Tricksters have. Each time was separate (the permanently enslaved demon died each time before I permanently enslaved a different one). With a priest's Mind Control, it was considerably easier, since a different player had control of me. I've enslaved 'Kirith the Damned' (a 55 elite demon in the Blasted Lands) twice.

Also, if you don't log out when this game mechanic is activated, the permanently enslaved demon will remain in your pet slot. This may allow the demon to go into different zones, but I have yet to check.

My conclusion is: it's easiest to just find a friendly priest who will MC you, rather than hoping for a Jadefire Trickster to do it for you.

I read through the entire thread this morning and someone did try to take a flightpath and the demon did go with you. You just couldn't switch continents. There was someone that tried to do an instance and the demon waited outside.

Re: Permanent Enslaved Pets

i'm glad to see this bug still works. I stumbled on it purely by accident the day after the last pach was uploaded, and i was thrilled as you can imagine. However, I wish people weren't talking about it. I'm sure Blizz will nerf it soon enough, but isn't bringing attention to it just going to make blizz kill it quicker?

Re: Permanent Enslaved Pets

So once the priest has MCed you and you attack your demon... if he attacks back then he just instantly becomes permanent? Thats definitely a strange bug and I can't even fathom why someone would think that would work is why I ask. I'm still only level 40 and just started playin WoW so I am still out in the dark as to how most things work. Forgive my ignorance
