Succubus and Soul Link

I have read some posts on here about people using Soul Link with their Succubus and her being dead at the end of the fight. Now, I may be drain tanking wrong or something but I can't see how thats possible. I'm currently level 44. I haven't got to Soul Link yet, but I'm about to. I have approximately 2800hp and I believe my succubus has around 900-1000. Now if a mob completely killed me and she took 30% of that, its only 840dmg. I normally don't require any kind of draining or healing myself in anyway until I'm on the 3rd or 4th mob. So 2800 divided into quarters means I take approximately 700dmg each fight with mobs 1-2 lvls above me. 30% of that is only 210. So my main question is for you Soul Linkers out there..... Do you have problems keeping your Succubus alive when using Soul Link?

Re: Succubus and Soul Link

Very likely people are talking about raid situations, where on a boss fight you will typically be hit by several times your health, assuming your do not get agro (in which case, it's mostly 1 or 2 shots, possibly but rarely 3 with Soul Link and the Void Walker).
I raid with a 7/31/13 template, and I sacrifice / resurrect my demon. Then, I pass soul link only on trash, even with the succubus, because it is unlikely that I will take any damage at all.
As soon as we go for the boss, I forget about the succubus, and sacrifice / rez the felhunter or the void walker. Then, I may or may not pass Soul Link, depending on the fight and the current raid setup (farm status or uneasy run). If I do pass Soul Link, I watch very carefully my void's health. I use the Robe of the Void, and sometimes I manage to get a regen on him if the healers are not too busy and are aware of my template (the VW is parked far of the combat). Unfortunately, it often happens that I have to sacrifice the VW when its health goes too low.
The Fel can heal itslef pretty well, so SL is viable.

I would never pass SL on a succubus on a raid boss, even in ZG: 1.8k health (she rarely gets the group buffs since it's so hard to have her rezzed when the buffs are cast), that's about 1 or 2 minutes maximum, if all goes well.

Just ask for a Priest Bubble instead of rezzing. Put the bubble on your pet, Sac and heal. Done.

Explain more please Zazier? You mean use priest shield and it stops the pet from dying when we sac?

Re: Succubus and Soul Link

Unbelievable, I was in AQ20 last night and did this so many times My friendly Priest in guild (my son actually) was also happy with this, much easier than the res. We soon got into a routine, in fact I made a macro to /w him every time I summoned a pet so he bubbled it straight away without me having to ask

Nattal, just out of curiousity, what was the macro you used? Sounds like a great idea.

Sl with succubus

Was considering using the following build

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?05002000000000000005005313250105100550020100000000

I moslty plan on pvping until xpac comes out, dont know whether it will work or not. If not I might go to a 9/21/21 build. SM/Ruin just isnt doing its job for pvp for me atm. I find that I have to continuously life tap and bandage. While I would have that problem with the SL build I would have more hps to life tap and be taking less damage. Has anyone tried a build similar to this and have any opinions please share them dont want to waste 100 gold respeccing and then having to respec again.
