Infernal, worth it?

So, I'm almost 48 and I'm coming up on 49, so I should be 50 very soon. And I want to know, Is the Infernal even worth the Time? Should I just do my ST quest, then forget about the Infernal? I don't think of it as a worth while thing. So tell me, what do you think I should do?

I actually use my Inferno from time to time.

One good use is to cap a tower or gy in AV. Send him in on AGGR and let the guards beat on him while you are opening it.

Mag the Infernal quest and pet are definately worth your time. The Infernal is a 5 min super pet. I would pass on the Doomgaurd quest unless something gets radically altered in the expansion.

Re: Infernal, worth it?

To put it this way. I have around 33 days /played on my warlock. 10 of those were used to get from 1-60, so I guess I've had the infernal spell for around 25 days. When I got the spell, I bought 5 infernal stones. A few days ago, I threw out 2 stones to make room for something more useful.

I'd do it again for the XP, but that's about it.

Re: Infernal, worth it?

Used creatively, the Infernal is very powerful.

In my opinion, a warlock's not a warlock if they don't have their Inferno and Ritual of Doom spells (or at least are working on them).

Re: Infernal, worth it?

My infernal stones have dust on them. That's how often I use them. And the doomguard quest? Other than bragging right's worthless (IMHO).

Re: Infernal, worth it?

Infernal is great in pvp. It completes you as a warlock to have the ability to summon both an infernal and a doomguard, whether or not you actually use them. They are warlock-specific spells in the game, so why not? It's part of completing the character.

I 2nd that...gotta get it - it's a class identity thing

I do use mine on occasion...for instance, farming demonic runes in legash encampment recently - (fire damage immunity against hellcallers and massive armor against the others) - have your infernal round some up and let him work independently while you take out a few side demons.
like was said in earlier post - a 5-minute super pet - I find myself using him more and more in everything but an instance/raid scenario...

I've also pulled him out against mages in chance pvp encounters a few times - fire immune, heavy melee hits, and a serious scare factor for the unwary.
