I did a dummy test and CoE seems to be better from what I can tell but everyone is still swearing by CoD and I don't know why.

Oh and look up my armory if you want to see my spec. I dunno if maybe that has to do with some of it or perhaps my gear. I am just curious to get an explaination to this since it's bugging me bad lol.
The World of Warcraft Armory
Spell Damage Taken
Curse of the Elements [iw]
Earth and Moon
Ebon Plaguebringer

All fall in same category so usually with a decent setup of a raid it has no point on putting up curse of elements, and therefore better to put up curse of doom.

(Feels good to be evul). Thats why, if you stack haste and use spellstone instead you will see your dps rising, you should for a deep destro spec aim for around 15-18% crit and then going for SP/Haste.
-Hope this helped.
Incorrect though the benefit of firestone doesnt really comes from the extra crit but from the 1% direct damage increase, without a question this spec benefits most from the firestone. Haste as stat on gear is superior ofcourse.

SO basically: Use firestone for 0/13/58, and spellstone for the rest. Firestone is what you use. (Source: elitist jerks, Ensidia and my experience)

Do you agree that you need ulduar gear for destro to be better than aff or 40/30?

and yes its very good to be evul
For the most part yes. Destro scales very well with higher end gear. You see a large dps increase when you really gear up. Before then, well it may be better to use 0/41/30 or deep affliction if you like that as destro does not scale as well in naxx gear. 0/41/30 does very stable dps with a very easy rotation. I never have been affliction, so I cannot tell you anything on that spec from personal experience.

I am still not convinced about the rotation that can give me the better DPS. Is it Immolate->Conflagrate->Chaos Bolt->Incinerate (filler) or Immolate->Chaos Bolt->Conflagrate->Incinerate (filler)?

Re: Destro 3.1.2 Rotation video

i dont think it makes a massive difference as your gonna have to wait for the gcd at some point. However for trash your definitely going to want to but the conflag in first. on bosses it could be argued that you wont catch the tanks agro up as fast if you put the CB in first?

i have a question on life tapping,

for maxx dps you want to keep going til your mana runs out then lifetap a bunch of times to get full mana then carry on.

thats all very well if your not taking damage but LT to full mana can leave you very low on health which unless a healer is on the ball can leave you dead and we all know that its pretty hard to dps when your dead :-)

what i find myself doing is hitting LT once at about half mana. giving the healers plenty of time to get me back up again. I dont have the heros plagueheart garb yet so dont get the LT bonus.what do you think?

With the build we discuss here you have replenishment of mana and only need to life tap on very long fights. Also even in your destro build i dont recommend life tapping from 0 to full, but get life tap in your rotation when you can (nothing on cooldown).

I explained this before, but first rotation (so first time you put everything up)
Immo, curses, Conflag, Chaos Bolt, Incinerate

Rotation after that is on priority basis when off cooldown but in general: Immo > Conflag > Chaos > Incinerate (put curses back on when needed)
