Would like some feedback please.
Not sure where to post this so if its incorrect let me know or move it, thank you. First of I'd just like to say I've played since Alpha and know the game pretty much, experienced in all fields from PvP to PvE and know the classes. I am here to ask for peoples opinions on a project I'd like to start and whether it'd be worth my time writing it. Basically - I have created various levelling guide updates for people like Joanasworld and thought I'd share my experience with people much like Crypt has however, my aim will be a faster levelling guide much like James has done on wow-pro but dedicated to each class in the game so nothing is impossible for the class but still allows you to level quicker. The basis of this idea was a friend started WoW a few weeks ago and purchased a levelling guide in which I told them not to in the first place as most guides are fast and say 'any class can do it' but that just not true. They level with Hunters usually allowing their pet to tank the mobs while they hit one then loot the quest item and run off. My aim is to write one for each class and as I'm creating a new Warlock as a fresh start to WoW if anyone would be interested in this idea of Warlock being my first choice for the guide. It'll be Horde but I shall also write an Alliance one too, same goes for each class. Sorry to bore you to death but if you'd like this then let me know. I'm a bit bored of WoW at the moment and in alpha testing of a new game thats out next year so this would help me solve my boredom! Thanks, Teranar |

Hey Teranar, That sounds like a wonderful idea. We're always looking for new, detailed and yet easily understood, guides to populate our guide library. If you were do do such a project, it would not go unappreciated.

Sure that sounds good. I'll set about it like Crypt's is and submit the starting areas for the Horde Warlock classes soon if I have permission to submit one, tried a while ago and didn't have access. |

Yes, tried submitting it there before - it came back with something like my access wasn't high enough please contact an Administrator. It seems I can submit one now not sure why I couldn't before. I think the guide itself is a good, step-by-step approach. It might be too basic for the more advanced gamer, however when I first started playing WoW I had no gaming experience whatsoever and simple things like knowing where the vendors were would have been very helpful. My one critique is that a little bit more formatting could go along way towards readability. I felt like I was reading a long form. Including some bolded text, underlining, and inserting spaces in certaing places could break it up a bit to show the reader where one quest ends and another begins. This would be especially helpful if the reader is referencing the guide in the middle of a quest and wants to find what s/he's looking for quickly. Other than that, a new levelling guide has been a common request lately from the latest generation of Locks so I praise your effort and wish you luck. It's certainly a large chore! |

Ah yes, was something I whipped together in 15 minutes so formatting isn't correct, just meant how does it look. I can add vendors and NPC positions in if you wish but that would require a bigger set of images as not everyone uses a co-ordinates mod. |

Yep, I think the content of what you've written thus far is good (I have actually levelled a BE lock to 12.) And I agree - don't add images and things of that nature unless you want your guide to take up more harddrive space than the game itself! And it's true, I still don't use coord.'s so that information is never helpful if that is all that is provided. Perhaps little details like "mouseover of certain characters gives an icon with bags - you can sell items you pick up from mobs to these NPC's to get extra money." That kind of thing can be helpful. Maybe adding a glossary of NPC's that covers what each of the different mouse icons means would be helpful... |

YES PLEASE! I mean, erm, sure, that sounds like a good idea. lol. Seriously though, I always see people asking for Crypt to update his guides, so it would be very much appreciated! Preview looks really good.

Ok - I used wow-pro as a basis on the guide format Blood Elf Warlock Levelling Guide does this look better now? Ignore the underlining of quests, uploaded it and it went like that for some reason but you get the idea. =) Not too image heavy and easy to read.
