Is there any reason why I would not be able to edit a post? I made this post yesterday and I am unable to edit it today. The post is here: Pre-raiding Destruction Gear I have tried logging in and out, but it hasn't worked. Any ideas? Last edited by maiko; January 18, 2008 at 05:48 PM.. |

I think that the edit feature is on a timer Maiko. You only have so long to edit a post I do believe before it locks out the edit feature. |

Yes, it is timed out. I believe Akasha explained it previously as a means for people to be held accountable for their posts so they can't just come and wipe out their statements later.

Correct. There is a 12 hour time limit on the ability to edit posts. There are a few reasons, one of them is as Maltyrius mentioned - to stop people going back and editing their posts when they get in trouble / get called on it. For those that wish to contribute guides / information posts to the site however, and need to have the ability to edit their posts, I can over right the time limit. If you need to be able to edit your post, post it down in the "submit your guide here" section and I will open up the editing.
