Handing out infractions because -I- do not classify a post like you think I should is rather ANAL!

I run a site with over 50,000 users (HeliFreak.com) and we had out infractions for "real" problems. It take 1 second to move a post if you do not agree with my placement for petes sake and certainly does not warrant an infraction.

Bad business mister.

Yup, what with being the world's number 1 independent resource for wow warlocks, with a member base that's constantly expanding we're bound to get people that can't follow guidelines or conduct themselves with an awareness of the community they have joined.

The "help" you refer to is the Den members, of which it's everyone's responsibility to post with decorum, good taste and in the appropriate sections. If you can't do that I'm amazed your site is successful.

And you support botters. Says it all really.

If you can't adhere to forum basics then the only thing anal around here is the place where you keep your head. Sorry Akasha, et al. There goes *my* usual good taste and decorum.

Agree with Vaell, my opinion is that the handling of this website has been nothing short of excellent, during the past year i have been consistently visiting it.
Thanks again guys for all the hard work ,effort and time you put day after day on this website.

Well I can't have green fire. It makes up for it a bit!

If I'm correct, Blue means you use (as in utilize / utility) the site, and you've yet to pass the threshold of posts required to go up a rank.

Continue to post in the spirit of The Den to get the 'Helpful to the Community' label. If you have the right disposition for the community, which I know you have, it will happen without much effort, as has happened with me.

I have one green square, CPimp has 4 green squares. I don't think *anyone* will catch The Gear Daddy up

There are rules to every site and compared to some we are easy-going and lenient....we don't ask a lot from our users other than they treat each other with respect and courtesy while following the few rules we have - such as posting in the correct section, reading the sticky threads and using the search engine before posting.

Your thread was moved to the correct section and you have an infraction for not posting it in the correct place initially. Its not the end of the world really is it? but as you have an existing infraction for doing exactly the same thing is it our fault for following the rules we've laid out or your fault for doing the same thing again?

I'm now going to close this thread and give you another infraction for your language which isn't called for in the slightest.

LOL so familiar. Yep, the old #1 RC Helicopter site used to have that same "holier than thou" attitude and still do to a degree. Good ole "We are #1 and if you don't like it lump it". They are no longer #1. Same thing with LS1.com. Most of the good people eventually migrated to LS2.com or LS1Tech. Nothing last forever, this is the internet.

I have been doing this a long time and understand the pressures or running a LARGE site. Trust me, handing out infractions is not customer focus. I like things "tidy" on my site too which is why I have hand picked over 20 moderators. But please rethink "infraction". I just did not randomly pick a forum and post. Handing out infractions because YOU do not agree with what -I- think IS the correct forum for my posts. But hey it is your house do as you please.

P.S. As to how I feel about botting or who I am voting for for President is just irrelevant.
