Pimp your link!
Ok, going to try to do a few things at a time and really test this new laptops power to change my day. It was brought up how abysmally sad the links page is here so I feel that should be one of my first things to try and do. Plus, that's an easy page to do away from my main computer as I don't need any images etc.
So, time to pimp your links! Let me know of your favourite WoW related websites and lets get this links page redone! Website name: Link: Why I like it: Let me know! ![]() |

Website name: WoW Reputation Calculator
Link: World of Warcraft Reputation Calculator Why I like it: This website does a fantastic job of analyzing your toon (Just enter your toons name / realm and it does the rest), and showing you what your reputations are with all the various factions of the outlands. It then gives you detailed information as to what you need to do to reach the next rank (honored, revered, exhaulted). It will tell you that you can do Shadow Labs 2.4 times to hit revered, or that you need 250 rep (22 sunfury signet turn-ins) to hit the next rep level for Scryers. Website name: Wow Gem Finder Link: WoW Gem Finder: All Gems Why I like it: This website does a great job at helping you find whatever gem you want. you can sort by common, rare, or epic quality, by color, or by gems that will fit a gem slot type. I've found it very handy when trying to find the right combination of gems to socket. Website name: WoW DB Link: WOWDB:The next generation World of Warcraft database Why I like it: This was mentioned earlier, but I felt I needed to add a bit more to why it is such a good website. It is one of the newer WoW Database websites, but it has features that the others do not (or have only just recently gained). You can create a free account in WoW DB that lets you link and save your character (you put in your armory link). You can save multiple toons to your account, create bookmarks, and wishlists that are available the next time you visit the website. Then while your previewing items and armor you get a direct comparison to what your toon currently has equipped. Plus, you can view that item on your toon with the 3d viewer. It also provides a very nice map engine lets you select a zone, view all the npc, herb, mining nodes on the map, as well as select a specific type (ie dreaming glory) and display all the known locations that herb spawns in the selected zone. This is probably the nicest looking and feature rich database website I've found. The one downfall is that it is new and so a lot of comments aren't posted to give additional clues on quests. But if you use it, and post on it, it'll only get better. |

Re: Pimp your link!
Akasha I have some other links to profession leveling guides but some of those are not "sites" per se. Like one is a thread on the EU forums. I don't know if you want to include those or not. Let me know if you want them and I'll list them.
El's Extreme Anglin' - WoW Fishing Guide http://www.elsanglin.com/ Everything you could possibly want to know about fishing in wow presented in a RPish way. It's got a fish finder that lets you search by catch name or zone to see what you can catch where and what the minimum skills are to cast and prevent lost catches. The site is very well written, informative and funny. The guy who runs it is a professional writer and it shows. Wowecon - WoW Auction House Price Database http://www.wowecon.com/ This is the main site for an AH addon but the site allows you to search AH prices right from the site without needing the addon. I've been using the addon myself for almost as long as I've been playing and I like it over Auctioneer because it aggregates real data from users of the mod which is uploaded to the site and downloaded to the mod. It tracks what items have actually sold for not just what it sees items listed for like Auctioneer. The data is much more accurate than the pricing data from anywhere else. It can be searched for by realm and faction or if there is no data available for a realm you can get a global avg which is still more accurate than say using prices from a site like wowhead. Voodex:Gold-Making in WoW http://www.voodex.com/ Not the greatest site ever but I found this site as a new player and got some decent tips on how to make gold. It's a "say no to gold buying/no RMT" kind of site with tips and strategies that work. I was able to buy mats to level my tailor as I leveled my character because of tips from this site and when I started playing, my server was only a couple of months old. (read spider's silk was selling for as much as 5g ea at the time) Definitely helpful for a newbie. Crafter's Tome http://wow.crafterstome.com/home.html This is another site I found early on. I don't personally use it much anymore now that I know about sites like wowhead but it's a complete listing of recipes/patterns and also has some profession leveling guides that some may find useful. I've tried to read every guide I could find for leveling my professions and have found that none of them is exactly how I would (or actually DID) do it. Most of the advice in a given guide is excellent but without exception there will be some items you will be told to level on that for one reason or another (realm economy, your access to farming a certain mat, the guide author just flat out missing a better recipe to use and even your class) are not the best item to use. Making informed decisions is always your best option. Plus, someone put love into this site. For that alone I think it deserves a mention. Be Imba! - Character Auditor http://be.imba.hu/ I have to give credit to being told about this site by a post here on the den. Not perfect by any means but a cool little tool to again help you make informed decisions. Saved the best for last... The Warlocks Den http://wowmb.net/ Quite simply the coolest thing about being a warlock! ![]() |
