New Guide shut down Please Read!
I haven't seen anything in forums rules about this so here it goes. So my guide is an indepth sl/sl warlock guide towards killing each class in pvp. I made it as i found the other guides on killing in the "how to kill" section very incomplete and/or outdated. This is also one place to find it all instead of many different posts with scattered info. I don't understand why wowmb refuses to show it as it will only help everyone get better but apparently there is already a "very indepth guide on this topic" according to one of the moderators. I'm not going to post it here but that would be against the rules.
Sorry i don't have any money so its a free mega upload so you'll have to wait 45 seconds to download is MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service No account or anything required If you look at the current guides it takes 5 different posters to explain for to beat a pally. This is mearly a way to make things easier. These Strategies were tested and proven personally. If anyone can add please do. It was some exploration and reading to determine the best ways and nothing is copied or taken directly from somone other than what i noted. This post is Copyrighted by the Wowmb forum rules and cannot be reproduced without permission from me. I do allow WOWMB to post this if they agree. |

Re: New Guide shut down Please Read!
Please take this as constructive criticism and not personal in any way. I think your guide to beating other classes, while slightly more complete than those listed in the post How do I kill a ? - The Warlocks Den Forums still is a bit lacking.
I would suggest writing everything out a little more plainly and explaining why a certain pattern or attack would work so well vs that class. Also I would like to see you include a list of attacks that class might do to you and how you would vary your attack accordingly. Such as Mortal Strike from a warrior severely limits your ability to Drain Life by 50% and as such a different pattern of attack might be in order. Regarding the primary issue here, of your guide being blocked, I am on your side. I think your guide is perfectly valid. The link that was provided to you, when your guide was closed, wasn't a link to an existing guide, but a link to existing threads on the topic. One solution would be to reply your advice into those individual threads. Another would be to request your thread be added to that list. Yet one more might be to submit it as an actual guide using the Submit a Guide page located here Recently Submitted Guides - The Warlocks Den Forums. As for what the moderators are willing to do for you, only they can say. However those would be my steps. I don't believe any of the moderators are making any personal attacks against you. Their job is to consolidate the information on this website keeping the site clean and the information easily accessible. Last edited by Pernicious; August 20, 2008 at 12:28 PM.. |

Re: New Guide shut down Please Read!
If you wish to submit a guide then please, by all means do so. You've clearly seen the guides on the site (I would in particular direct your attention to CP's Gear Guide, or any of Crypt's masterpieces) so thats your benchmark. If its good enough, then we use it - can't say any fairer than that.
(Yes, Pernicious has made a pertinent point - make it as complete and polished as possible to add to your chances). |

Re: New Guide shut down Please Read!
I shut down the guide in question. While you certainly added some nice perspective that would have value in a consolidated discussion context, it was not quite, as others have indicated, ready for prime time.
I certainly think you can add value to a guide of that nature and, at the same time you might consider that having others involved for the drafting and polish aspect of guide writing might be a positive thing for all involved. The best guides are a combination of quality information that is coherent, readable, relevant and readily accessible. A RL example would be how subject matter experts, such as an engineer, work with technical writers to draft user manuals. So, in closing your thread, I did not mean to imply there was no value in it (and, your point is taken that it could seem that way). Specifically, you seem to be a perfectly capable subject matter expert that could use an assist on the polish. ![]() |

Quote:
![]() So everyone is aware. I sent an email to Curseofthe yesterday TELLING them to post their guide under the 'submit your guide' section of the forums! My exact email sent was: Hello Chire, Firstly, quickly, if you have a problem with the actions of a moderator, the best course of action is to come to me. Replying to warning/infraction emails sent out comes directly to my inbox, and if you can come to me calmly and explain your side of the story, I am more than happy to look into it for you. Just for next time... In regards to your post that was closed, I think it would be a handy thing to have. A quick reference guide for each classes. Perhaps at the end of each class paragraph you could link to all the many, many threads on the forums that discuss tackling said class. Just a thought. If you would like to offer this sort of guide to the forums, please feel free to post it under the Submit your guide here! section of the forums. For gods sake. *** Information added 91 Minutes and 29 Seconds later... *** Closing this thread. There are correct avenues to submit a guide and receive critique and feedback on it. The Site Relation section is not it. |
