Suggestion: Waiting 30 seconds wall

Maybe it's just me, but I am always hitting the 'You must wait 30 seconds before searching' wall while browsing through new posts. I know it's to stop searchbots from killing the server and all, but 30 seconds is to long for me. It makes me tab out and do something else for a while, and then half the time I forget to come back here

Halfing it would still let it serve it's purpose, and then not get in anyones way.

Again, it might just be me moving at freakishly fast speeds through new posts

I somewhat agree. I hit the 30 sometimes doing my getdaily search occasionally through my The Warlocks Den Forums firefox bookmark but I actually run into the 30 wall more often when I am doing multiple searches for actual keywords... not that it really bothers me... though like to think i am becoming a more patient person because of it!

I get the same thing at times as well. I see it because I can "move at freakishly fast speeds through new posts" as well sometimes, as well as other reasons. Sometimes I misclick and go to a post I didn't really want to read, hit back, then click on the one I wanted to read, then read that I need to wait 30 seconds before searches.

Try bringing the new posts search up and then viewing the topics contained in the list each in a separate tab so that you aren't clicking the New Posts button as often.

While I too hit the "30 second wall" quite often when I am looking for information here, it is only a minor inconvenience to me. I am usually good to go while browsing new posts, because I usually open links in a new tab (or window if I'm at work on IE6). The search block only pops up when I am doing searches for keywords here, especially when I happen to be searching for the wrong words!

Very shortly I am moving to a new server as this one isn't coping with us anymore. I can look into dropping the wait period then. It's just held up by financial problems at the moment.
