Talent and Gear help threads
After thinking about it for a while, I've decided to drop the need to approve the Talent and Gear help threads. This change is mostly brought on by my lack of time. Weather is getting nicer here, Savannah's more mobile and needing more interaction (read:chasing down lol) and 3.0 and Wrath of the Lich King are just around the corner.
I don't want people's threads to wait to be approved, so I've dropped that portion and all threads will go live as soon as posted. BUT! This doesn't mean that threads can ignore the format required to get help! Threads can and will still be closed if they are not posted under the correct sections of the forum. They are also still required to follow the format laid out in the sticky threads in order to get assistance. The only change with that part - is I'm putting the responsibility of making sure people follow the format in your hands, the members. ![]() The easiest way is to simply ignore and not assist the threads that can't follow the format. After all, you have all requested it be followed, (Format to follow, or not? YOU decide) so if people can't respect your wishes and help you by providing an easy to follow format, then you shouldn't go out of your way to help them. Another alternative is replying to the threads, politely, pointing out the sticky thread and asking them to repost/edit their thread following the correct layout. I can't stress how important it is for you to convey this request correctly, because flaming or attacking someone could end up with you getting the moderators attention instead. ![]() I will be keeping my eye open for someone to perhaps take on the roll of moderating the threads in these sections, someone put in charge to reply and point out the format to those who can not follow. If this is something you would like to do to help out, and you have the time, then please show me. (( Vaell I know we talked about this, offer is still open to you, but please don't give up any game/RL time for it ))Any questions, just ask. ![]() |

Re: Talent and Gear help threads
hopefully you don't feel offended, but is there a template in mind for this future cleanup/rules that people should see in action ?
it seems a little like you want the comraderie from sites like elitist jerks, but without the math or the elitism. (is that a bad thing ?) |
