AFK Today

Just a quick post to let you all know that I am still here, just busy at the moment. Today is Savannah's party, and it's busy busy busy. Balloons, and streamers, and seating oh my! Yesterday I was away all day baking cakes, and cupcakes, and chocolate crackles. Oh my, how Warlocky am I?

I have seen MD's ranting, thankyou for all the emails expressing your opinions about him, they were a funny morning read. Some you guys are very Warlock aren't you! Whoooe!

Thread has been removed from site for the moment, I will read it properly tonight. MD has been banned for the time being. Thankyou for all the offers to help assist with that part.

I behaved and refrained from posting my thoughts on the matter.

Enjoy your party and don't give it a moments thought during the big day! While it may be Savannah's B'day it's also your one-year anniversary of surviving motherhood so take a few minutes to put your feet up and give yourself a big pat on the back!

Though I am sad to see MD get banned (whether for his behavior or the misconception that he was behind the IRC channel), I'm confident that once you get a chance to properly sit down and review the discussion that transpired, Akasha, you'll decide if he should remain banned or not.

I'm personally of the opinion that people can speak their mind about things even if they go against what I personally believe. Thats freedom of speech, and I believe in it up until the point at which one persons freedom of speech infringes upon another persons freedoms. If somebody says something that belittles, degrades, or harms another, that person must be dealt with. I trust your wisdom on this one Akasha.

MD was temporarily banned to stop him causing more problems - both for the site, and for himself. I've received over 15 emails about his conduct alone, from long time members who didn't want him here anymore. I'd love to quote some of the comments used to describe him. I will not have 1 new member come and disrupt the apple cart. Especially when I can not really be here to deal with it.

And just for the record, I know MD was not the channel owner. I never said he was. He made that incorrect assumption himself. Those who are in charge of it have been spoken to and they refuse the change the name of the channel. People need to remember that 95% of the Admin work happens out of site.

I wasn't speaking for the forum just then, just my own opinions. Freedom of Speech also isn't recognized in every nation on this planet, given that the Internet is a global tool I wouldn't expect it to be found ever where online either.

I agree, you bring up a good point. I suppose I mention it as an explanation of how I've been viewing the situation and why I was sorry to see MD get banned, not so much as me telling Akasha how she should do her job which I'd never do. But I said it, and there isn't any way to take it back.
