Innappropiate Advert!
I have recently noticed an advert been shown on the top of the site, that I feel innapropiate(spelling??).
The advert is for a site hosting adult content, and as this is a forum which many youngsters as well as the more mature adult warlocks out there I think it should not be allowed to be shown here. I don't know if Akasha can block these types of adverts but if she can I think it would be best for all. I wont name the site for the time being, but if Aksaha or one of the other mods wants to contact me I'll let you know the name of the site it links to, so any possible action can be taken. |

Re: Innappropiate Advert!
Try Firefox. I have yet to seen an actual advertisement on this site. It blocks all those nasty little things, like inappropriate ads.

Re: Innappropiate Advert!
Marsyx and other folks who don't want to deal with the ads should think about getting a subscription to Warlock's Den, which also lets you have a cool custom sig and avatar, in addition to ad-free access!
Kids may not have the money, or credit card access for subscriptions (but should consider asking Santa/Father Christmas, whose credit is very good!). Akasha, how user-friendly are your advertisers (and I understand that you work with at least three)? Inappropriate ads are a problem for all kinds of Warcraft bloggers, including Bigredkitty, but some of those have been able to work with the advertisers to restrict ads to more appropriate ones. The success stories include advertisers who wanted to know more about the site's aims and readers, and who believe that an appropriate ad is a more effective one. Google just automates all of those choices. GL trying to stay in the black with a high-traffic website. It boggles my mind that there are people making a living doing this.Since I'm a subscriber, the only ad I can see is the box at the very bottom of the front page, and it's currently an ad for another virtual world (which seems very appropriate). |
