Request from a Mage...

I post this with trepidation given the headache I am sure it's caused you the past couple of days Akasha, but I wanted to post it publicly rather than via email to gauge whether or not I was alone. Hopefully the good folk of the forum will keep this thread from derailing.

I'm a Mage, as evident by my name. I've been watching with great anticipation at the talk of possibly expanding the site recently, my interest mostly lying in the Mage portion of it. I tried a Warlock a long time ago, however a Mage is more my play style. Unfortunately, I do not have a 'home'. Although some places will allow me to board, I want somewhere I can call my own.

I'm extremely jealous of what the Warlocks have here, and saddened that they don't want to share. But then again, I guess neither would I.

I realise how much work it would be to start another forum, especially from scratch, so I come to you with another proposal. Would you be willing to give Mages a place to call home (build the house so to speak), if it were the Mages that were willing to look after it?

I was thinking that, since you seemed to be so well knowledged in the administration of a forum, that if you were to put on Mage moderators, left it to the Mages to promote, populate and build while you kept an occassional eye on the place, it would give Mages a home, while allowing you to 'expand' so to speak.

What do you think? Are there any other Mage alts (or mains like me) who lurke here that would want this?

Re: Request from a Mage...

Um, hrm. It's something I could certainly look into - especially since I plan on leveling my Mage to 80 after my Hunter. Starting another forum from scratch is not my favourite idea, but if there was enough interest from Mages looking for a home, it's certainly something I could consider.

Re: Request from a Mage...

Akasha...I know how much trouble it would be...but multiple Dens would be a service to all. The Warlock's Den has been far to good to not expand upon the idea.

Re: Request from a Mage...

Setting up a forum is no trouble. Neither is really 'maintaining' it. The promoting, getting members, posting, geting others to post, getting/writting guides etc... that's the hard part.

If those who use the site are happy to help with that aspect, then it wouldn't be hard at all. But a lot would fall back to them on how sucessful the site managed to be.

I am SO not promising anything... it will honestly depend on the users to help make it grow and succeed. I will do what I can, especially as I do have a Mage that I enjoy and will be leveling, but it really will be up to the Mages to make it what they want it to be.

So if you have a Mage, know a Mage or just want to help another aspect of the site (sort of) grow, then please start spreading the word.
