New Feature: Good Posts...
After much fiddling, I'm very happy to release a new feature. And I think you guys will like this one! At the bottom right hand corner of every post you will see the following: ![]() It's fairly obvious right - green possitive if you think it's a good post, a red negative if you think it's bad. But it gets much better. Taking a leaf out of WoWheads books, for every post that recieves a certain number of possitive votes, the text will turn green! ![]() This is going to put more control in your hands, the members, to give props to those who take the time to write out well spoken, informative and helpful responses. And show others if they are doing the opposite. I am still fiddling with how to make the post turn red and then soft delete if there's a certain number of negative, but that requires a little more coding... The really cool thing, is I will be able to run reports to see which posts have received a lot of possitive (and negative) hits, which users have received possitive marks for their posts etc. I am looking into some sort of prize for those who contribute the best to the site. Along side the potential prizes, it's all tied into the reputation system, so will relfect immediately for those who do well. I am also finalizing the ability to show a page with the top helpful posts, allowing new (and old) membres to be able to identify which are good threads to read. It's already showing on each users profiles, so you will be able to see what posts users have been praised for. Over all this will allow you guys, the members, to highlight the good posts. It's currently active across the forums, however it will come in best in, for example, the Ulduar Boss section where it can highlight additional information on top of the guide for readers to read. Note: This feature works in conjuction with the Thanks thread. The ability to thank posts is reserved for the first post only, this feature is enabled on every post.

It doesn't seem to be working for me (using Firefox 3.5)... I click the green + sign, don't see any bytes going back and forth, page doesnt reload, etc. Just sits there? |

Re: New Feature: Good Posts...
Yep, I'll confirm it: You need to reload the page for the number of "likes" to go up. I use Firefox as well. Any Chrome/IE users have the 'issue'? |

Nice one. How does the - button work? It doesn't say "xx members didn't like the post", so what does it do? Now I can spend the day giving + and -... yay thanx very much akasha. |

I'll also confirm the need to refresh IE to see the changes. I don't even see the buttons in Chrome, but they work just fine in IE. I may have a limited / gimped version of Chrome here at work though, so I'll check again at home. Edit: Works fine at home on Chrome. Must not have java enabled at work.

Alrigth, so you have to refresh to see it. Regardless, a VERY helpful tool in finding posts full of quality
