Objectionable Ad Content
Some of you have complained about the gold, gear, and other WoW related ads shown here. Let me first say that I did not become the new owner of the site to spam it with ads. I enjoy running the Den and I play WoW. A lot of forum owners are not very involved with the content, but I choose to be. I am trying to find other networks but with the current recession, the ad inventory is very limited and even the networks Akasha had are not approving the site automatically. Those previous networks had spammy ads like Zwinky, Whiten Your Teeth, and other virus causing banners which are far worse than anything I am running. The site gets upwards of 12000 visitors per day. About 90% of the visitors don't stay too long. They search for the information and leave. Others stay longer and never register. The ads are currently shown ONLY to visitors. If you take the time, register, and become part of the site, then you will not see the advertisements. I personally have no issue with the ads. I work, balance family and do a lot of work outside of my job in running websites such as this. Everyone wants to keep things free here and no one wants to pay for it.. I have not asked any members for money for the site nor do I plan to. All that being said, if only 2 members per day decided to support the den, then I will remove the ads. This, however, will probably not happen. As long as you are registered, you will enjoy the Den ad free. Thank you for your understanding and patience. |
