What ami doing wrong....
What am i doing wrong with my warlock... I am a level 80 warlock spec is dest 0/20/51 im not sure if thats the right spec or not. The World of Warcraft Armory is my armory. My dps sucks... I dont know what i need to work on... my rotation is COD> Immulate>conflagerate> Chaos bolt> spam incenrate.. then when conflagerate after cd i click it then reset.... Not sure if thats correct either. I went into nexus and was only getting like 600 dps..... WTF!!! not sure if my gear sucks or i suck haha.... right now i feel like a nub! i really need someones help maybe a guide. Another question is how do i figure out my dps... cause im not sure if im doing that right. So plz help me out... so i wont look like a noob.

Your Spec is wrong. Look here. Fallenman's 3.1.2 Quick Raid Spec Rundown! Your gear is pretty poor, but you've been 80 for 2 days so that's not a biggy. Run some normal level 80 dungeons (UP, HoL, ToC, CoS) and grab some blue/purple items which should help a lot with bringing your gear up so that your more into the 1200-1500 dps range. At that point start running heroics, especially H-ToC to get emblems and gear. With most of the drops from H-ToC, maybe an emblem piece or 2, and some gear from other heroics you should be able to get ~2k with proper gems/enchants. At that point start running VoA, Naxx, OS to get some more gear. Once you dps is up around 3k+, start running Ulduar, 4k ToC10/25 and Onyxia. Its a process that will take you quite a while unless you have friends to run you through higher instances than you can handle and carry you, so just stick to it and you'll see your numbers creep up with each upgrade. |

It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. Your rotation is very much like mine and I pull a significant amount of Damage with it. What I do see is that your armor is a little under par. You have several greens and some do not really contribute much to the stats that you need (such as the chest piece). You might not be geared enough at this point in time to get Destruction to work for you as you want it. Keep in mind that DPS is often misleading. The stat that is really important is Damage Done. You can download an addon called Recount that will give you some very valuable information on the damage you do. It will provide DPS numbers as well as Damage Done. plus it will even break down your damage into how much each spell you cast contributed to that over all number. Also, at this point in time you might actually have better success with a different spec, such as Affliction, until you get your hit rating and spell damage numbers up.

Besides what everyone else said the only thing i can contribute is to gem your gloves. It looks like you have an open red socket in there. And, you have no enchants on anything. I understand that the gear is going to be replaced but put some cheapy enchants on them until you get better gear and then upgrade your enchant. My rule of thumb with my guild is everything must be enchanted and gemmed. I don't care if it is replaced the next day. With me being the guild leader and an enchanter most of my guildies don't pay for their enchants anyway. I also usually supply the mats. If, they need something I don't have then they will go get it or another enchanter in the guild will give it to them. Do you have a guild that can help you out like this? just enchanting will bring up your dps some. But like others have said start running and getting yourself better gear. |
