I need help with my DPS - Thread #2 (Post Patch 3.1)
With patch 3.1 out, it's time to kick off a new thread. A generic thread that all general DPS questions can be posted to. For more specific questions, you're own thread is no problem. But a lot of them are based around the "I've got no idea what's wrong with my DPS, please help" type questions, which really, we don't need a new thread each time. So, if you need help with your DPS, aren't sure why you're not doing as much as you'd like, then please post a reply to this thread. Hopefully, with all the questions and answers consolidated to once place, you might all be able to help each other.  Previous threads:

My DPS are rather low at the moment and I really don’t know what to do about it. Any help would be appreciated. I joined a 25 man raid 3 weeks ago. Before that I farmed my equipment in naxx25 pugs. In the first two weeks (pre 3.1) I was able to get into the top 5 dps spots without too much problems. Now, after the patch, I’m lucky to land a top 10 spot. As a direct comparison there is another warlock in the raid, who beats my dps in nearly every fight. I’m about 3,5k boss-dps most of the time, whereas he gets to 4,5 boss-dps. Both of us are skilled exactly the same and his equip is only slightly better, so I must be doing something wrong. My Char: Saeryn Build: [Build1]0/41/30 [Build2]0/40/31 Doing about the same dps with both, using Build 1 most of the time. Rotation: [Build 1] Curse of Elements, Corruption, Immolate, Incinerate ‘till 2 sec before Corruption expires, then Life Tap for Mana and T7 bonus, Corruption, Immolate, Incinerate, and so on. When the Mob gets below 35% I wait for Decimation to proc and the alternate between Soul Fire and Incinerate, and keeping Immolate up. [Build 2] Same as Build 1 with keeping Conflagrate on cooldown Selfbuffs: Fel Armor, Grand Firestone, Flask of the Frostwyrm and Firecracker Salmon Glyphs: [Build1] Felguard, Incinerate, Immolate [Build 2] Imp, Conflagrate, Immolate And here is the Warlock, whom easily beats my dps in every encounter: Spitzi He has the same Builds, same Buffs, same Glyphs and (as far as I know) same Rotation as I do (except he uses Curse of Agony and no Life Tap for T7 bonus). Increasing DPS for Ulduar
Hi Guys! I've been testing out the different raiding specs available 0/41/30, 0/56/15, as well as deep destro as of patch 3.1 but none seem to best or even come close to my current affliction spec 53/1/17 which on a heroic training dummy i barely make 3k dps using SB>haunt>corr>UA>Curse of Agony rotation. In 10mans with all available buffs i push at most 4k dps. Is there room for improvement for me? ie: change spec, what rotation in diff specs should i use or is it that i need to run more 25mans for better gear? Thanks in advance! |

Well, she's been holding up pretty well in XT-002. I'm on trash duty which makes her avoid the light bombs. Haven't been to the other bosses though. |

i need some help with my dps alot of people in my guild says i shoud do over 3k damage and i only do about 2,7 so i wonder if anyone can help and tell me what i am doing wrong i play 0/40/31 and start with immo-conflgrate -corr-Curse of Agony or coe ( in raids ) then spam incinirate The World of Warcraft Armory and if you can tell me what to change and go for thx for your help Last edited by Arcangel; April 22, 2009 at 06:34 PM.. |

Hi i'm hoping i can get some advise. My DPS is really lacking. In Uldar last week I was only doing around 1400 dps. On the training dummy with both my 41/30 and new 52/0/18 i was only doin around 1900 dps self buffed. I dont have a WWS report or anything because I really dont understand how to work it but i dont think i'm clipping my dots. Could it be a gear issue or am i completely hopeless. Any advise is more than welcome. Thank you very much. |

omg i am so frustrated!!!! i swear i have changed my spec ten times in the last 2 days, partly because of the patch/server re-sets and partly because my dps so entirely sucks (maybe 1080) that i just dont know what to do. sigh. so currently (maybe for the next hour or so....lol) i am 0/41/30 in order to get my felguard. i know my gear isnt great, but find that no one wants to run with a sucky warlock (/cry) so im working on crafted gear. i have been trying curse of agony, seed of corruption, immolate, incinerate, maybe shadowbolt or soul fire (depending on mana level). then life tap and drain life to re-acquire mana. on bosses i was hitting curse of doom in stead of curse of agony. rain of fire for groups of course. i am seriously at a loss. i would be thrilled with a constant 2k dps. really, not a high goal here. just adequate would give me great joy. any concrete suggestions? thanks! dii |

need help with my dps and tips on how do to better
hi .. i raid 3 times a week with my guild but some of the guild leaders are not so happy since they are saying that i do to litle dps (2,7 ) and with my gear i shoud do much better , so i wonder what i am doing wrong my spec is 0/40/31 immolate .conflgrate.corr. Curse of Agony when not in raid , coe in raid then spam incinirate glyphs are Glyph of Conflagrate,Glyph of Incinerate,Glyph of Life Tap,Glyph of Drain Soul maybe you can look at my gear and tell me what i am doing wrong and what i am doing right The World of Warcraft Armory my 2 spec is 54/0/17 but dont use it much hope you all can help me out thx |
