What am I doing wrong ?
Tong time lurker, first time poster. I'm mostly doing PVP (battleground ATM, but starting Arena soon) but I try to get into PUGs when I can (Gone for VoA a few times), but I'm usually one of the lowest in raid as far as DPS's concerned At the moment I'm 0/17/54 The World of Warcraft Armory I'm not well geared, but working on it (more looking at PVP than PVE atm, mostly gear I can get from Honor Points (without arena rating) and Wintergrasp marks) The World of Warcraft Armory My rotation for PVP is usually CoEle, Chaos Bolt, Immolate, Conflagrate and Incinerate, usually filling up with a Shadow bolt/chaos bolt (depending on CD) or Incinerate again until I can do another Conflagrate. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing in PvE, but I've been trying to keep Corruption, Curse of Agony and Immolate up all the time, spammiing Incinerate, Chaos Bolt or Shadow Bolt. (need a little advise on that) but still my DPS sucks :/ I'm saving up for Dual Spec (still have to pay back 3000g my GF lend me for epic flying) but for now I need something that gives me the most. As I said Battleground and Wintergrasp are my main objectives, but I go VoA whenever I can, I'm still considered undergeared and to low DPS for most raid groups I try to join. I wanna start doing Arena but I think I need to "fix" my DPS First. So i Need some assistance on Mostly BG spec, with some PvE (mostly VoA) side, so I don't suck ***. My main pet is Felhunter btw. What am I doing wrong ? Does my spec just not make any sence, Can I fix my rotation, what gear do I really need to replace, and with what (and how/where can I get it) Last edited by Addni; April 22, 2009 at 04:55 PM.. |

well looking at your spec you dont have ISB so i would actually remove shad bolt from the action bars as it provides no benifit, rotation should be Chaosbolt->immo->corr->conflag->incini-spam till chaost bolt is up then conflag/incinerat depending on conflags CD(only wait for CD if it's less then .5 secs away) id also hold off on the shadowburn till the last couple percent since we has limit on shards now D: other than that its rinse and repeat

Thanks for that, I've kinda already dropped shadow bolt since post since I saw incinerate was doing more  No curse ? I've been starting with curse of elements, and usually not using corruption |

In the most general sense, BGs and raiding are two different beasts. The most obvious difference is the gear/buffs you want to be bringing to the table. Since you thusfar have preferred BGs you are likely stacking Resilience and Stamina (in addition to other things) and neither is all that useful in a raid or even dungeon/instance setting. I would recommend that you begin building a second set of gear that isnt pvp specced but instead focuses on the buffs you get (+hit, spell, etc)...for use in VoA or you will continue to see dissapointing dps. PVP gear isnt geared towards raiding and high dps, it is geared towards survival and your shouldnt be getting hit in a raid unless things are going horribly wrong. I agree with the earlier poster about shadow bolt. But curse of elements isnt going to help your dps. You want to be using curse of agony unless you are in a raid situation and get asked to use curse of elements to buff the rest of the casters in your group. Curse of elements is a DPS downgrade for you. There are great guides for what gear to wear and where to get it on this site. Some general points on gear: Wear tabards, and start tunning heroics as you get the opportunity. They arent a huge time committment and you will get both emblems of heroism and reputation for the various factions. Start with Kirin Tor and get the Flameheart Spell Scalpel - Item - World of Warcraft. This would be a sizable improvement for you. A nice emblem spending guide is here Emblem Spending Guide A general Wrath of the Lich King gear guide is here WotLK Warlock Armor Upgrades - Quests, Instance, Tailored! since you dont seem in any particular hurry to get to ulduar, there should be plenty that is still relevent for your character.
