3.1 bad rotation or bad stats....

Hi,

I am trying to see why my dps is low and what i can change to boost it.

In 10man ulduar for Ignis the Furnace Master or XT-002, i cannot push up over 2.5-3k dps.

current spec is destruction:
The World of Warcraft Armory

I din't put any point in suppression because im hit cap at 447 and guild need me with improved soul leach for mana reg.

current rotation: Lifetap rank 1 ->Curse of Doom -> Immolate -> Conflag [backdraft starts] -> Choas bolt -> incin -> incin [backdraft ends]

The part im not sure if recasting Immolate before redoing Conflag (not sure if it affect it )

You should do better with CoElements (or is it shadow's now) than with doom.

What is the rest of your rotation? One would assume you're continuing to spam incinerate until <5s left on immolate then recasting conflag to get the F&B Crit boost to help proc Pyroclasm. But where we go from there is the important part. My rotation usually has me casting conflag at around 4s left on immolate, so I throw in a Chaos Bolt before recasting Immolate so they don't clip, then get off one more incin under backdraft. You can then life tap to keep the bonus spellpower up. Personally I haven't messed around with the LT glyph so I'm not 100% sure where exactly that would be best recast. I tend to keep CB on cooldown as much as possible, but I habitually save conflag for the end of immolate to make sure I have a better chance of critting, and thus getting a SP boost.

So might look like this for my rotation:
Lifetap rank 1 -> Curse of elements -> Immolate -> Conflag [backdraft starts] -> Chaos bolt -> incin -> incin [backdraft ends] -> Conflag - Chaos Bolt -> Immolate -> incin.. and repeat. (keeping LT bonus up)

Re: bad rotation or bad stats....

Hmm, I would not use the life tap glyph as deep destro with mana replenishment. You get a lot of mana automatically, which reduces the need to life tap dramatically. Life tapping just to keep the glyph up is a dps loss, while only tapping when you need mana reduces the value of the glyph...

So just don't use the Glyph and tap when you need or when there is a good oportunity (e.g. if you have to move).

I also don't exactly know what I need to do to get my dps up at all. I'm hoping someone can tell me what stats I need to bring up or bring down.

The World of Warcraft Armory

My rotation is immo>conflag>chaos>incinX2 and repeat

Thanks!

Re: bad rotation or bad stats....

i think it aint wise to have immo and conflag right after eachother i use a incin filler since there is a second inbetween immo hitting and conflag being open to being cast.

I might open Coe(without boomkin in raid)>immo>Chaos or Incin>conflag>incin until conflag is of GD again this way you aint waiting that second or so between immo and conflag being ready

Re: bad rotation or bad stats....

For all you guys it is important to actually realise why you use the rotation that you do. If you therefore know the consequence that one spell has on another you will afterwards be able to adjust your self in each fight. It is not fine just to read rotations that other people posted or use and just use them. So read your talent trees, try to learn as much as you can for your class and if your DPS is not what you expect then maybe the fight doesnt allow it.

I, recently, started trying out a suggested rotation where Conflag was right after Immo. That second is pretty annoying and leaves me doing nothing except for frantically pressing the button while thinking 'ah poop!'.

Glad it isn't just me
