shameless plug: Having Problems with your DPS? - The Warlocks Den Forums Your hit is low and you need to work out a better rotation, to put it simply. As well as what others said, enchant that gear. |

As far as Immo, usually a destro build will throw up Immo for a fire build for the increase in incinerate damage. However as a demo lock your not relying on incinerate for dps so I'd say drop it though you might want to double check that. Most of this info is geared for a destro build back in BC but I think most of it should still hold true even now for a demo lock. The only things you might want to double check are corruption and immo to see if they are worth putting up. If I were to wager a guess it would probably be one or the other but not 2.

I believe your answer is simple, your spec'd 0/40/31. This spec considering you do not have (4) T7 gear is not going to give a efficient increase in DPS( LifeTap). Patch 3.1.2 has changes and it may improve itself when installed today. I suggest changing to 0/41/30 , putting a point into the Fel Guard, hence about 20- 25% increase of your dps. You might consider another glyph until you get the (4) t7 gear. Adding a SB shot to your rotation will also help your dps because of the buff it provides. Not taking offence at all, just trying to understand what's going on. I haven't bothered with enchants yet as I got a few of the pieces the other day and haven't really been online since. I will get them chanted as soon as I go online. If you look at my original post I mentioned I have around 1850 sp(with fel armour) and my hit is around 327(i've been swapping out some gear while i was just checking out haste on the test dummy. Also thanks for the tips on which heroics will drop some decent gear for me, much appreciated. so for arguement sake can we base it on 1850sp and 327 hit(which is what I would normally have) I tend to only use soul fire when I get the decimate buff from incin which drops my soul fire cooldown to half the time and doesn't use a shard. Hmm... how to make it clear to everyone the imporance of hit... I guess you could say that 1% hit =1-2% increased damage and being 100% hit-capped gives you a sanity buff |

327 hit is not enough What's the Hit cap Mr. Wolf? Hit cap is 446. Anything below this and you will miss on raid bosses. You're specced into Cataclysm so that means your destruction spells only need 368 hit. (Anything else still needs 446). If you have a space goat in your party and within 30 yds of you, you get Heroic Presence which buffs you 1% hit (or 26 hit rating) thus bringing down the amount of hit you need. Improved Faerie Fire or Misery will also bring it down some. Bottom line, you need about 41 more hit to be certain you are hit capped and won't miss on raid bosses. Anything less and your dps will suffer. Get above that and tighten up your rotation and you're golden. |

To summarize: To hit a level 83 raid boss at 80 you'll need +446 spell hit without talents, or +368 spell hit with full specced suppression or cataclysm. At level 80, 1% hit chance is gained from 26.23199272 points of hit rating. You still need 17% (untalented) to be capped, giving a cap value of: 26.23 x 17 = 445.91 = 446.So just to confirm, I will need another 41 hit points to be capped(as I have 3 points in cataclysm)? |

Hitcapped. After that you still have a few things to work on. Get your Sons of Hodir, Kirin Tor and Wyrmrest Accord reps up to exalted. Sons of Hodir and Kirin Tor supply the best Shoulder and Head enchants in game for non scribes. Wyrmrest have some well sexy boots at exalted, get icewalker enchanted on them and you can start dropping hit gems for pure sp gems. Have a look on the AH, Runecasters Mantle is a BOE trash drop from UK HC, a bit better better than your current shoulders with a socket to boot and won't cost the earth. After that it's just learning to juggle your gear depending on what drops you get, never vendor anything with hit on unless you've replaced it with something with more hit on. Awesome, thanks for the advise. I'm basically stacking as much hit as I can at this point until I can farm some gear, I got a few badges last night so I'll probably get those shoulders as I was looking at them last night. I'll start farming some more heroics, i did about 6 last night and hopefully some nice stuff will drop. Thanks again. |
