where am i going wrong?
hey guys/girls well ive been 80 for a while and with my guilds help got gear sorted but im not pushing the dps expected of me in uk and up im fine i can push up to 4k with no problems, all other instances and raids is where my problems lye ive been trying to figure this out but ive no idea what im doing wrong. im using the deep destro specc and my rotation is as follows: IM-coruption-COD-CB-Conflagrate, Spam incinerate and refresh dots when needed. my hit rating is 17% and my spell power is nearly at 2k and crit is at 17% im currently working towards the tier 8 gear only 7 more emblems for my 1st peice :P The World of Warcraft Armory please any dvice on improvements would be greatly appriacated thanx Mochate |

you're way over hit, so drop those hit gems. replace your old gems with epic. do 2 runed cardinal rubys on your belt. enchant your pants with brilliant spellthread. enchant your dagger with +63 spellpower. enchant your robe with +15 spirit enchant your helm from kirin tor enchant your shoulders from sons of hodir Your destro glyphs need to be LT, immo (or incin), and conflag. your destro rotation should be: ETD = estimated time to death LT (lowest rank possible, just before start of fight) -> mod ETD >= 60s or Curse of Agony > 30s or corr ~30s or no DoT -> immo -> conflag -> CB -> incin * X (where X is however many you can squeeze in before conflag CD) -> check DoTs/LT -> rinse repeat hope this helps. |

Normally, Destruction rotation doesn't throw Corruption because it's not being modified by talents. Corruption has a lower DPCT than Incinerate but can be used depending on if you have 2pT7 or not, or if you're on the move a lot. My rotation is usually Immolate -> coD -> Conflag -> Chaos Bolt -> Incincerate. Then priority takes over from there. You can update your chest enchant, and your haste enchant on your cloak. I also noticed you dont have any head or shoulder enchants hooked on them. I suggest you work on getting tier 7 peices first and then work your way up to tier 8. edit; He has no talents in supressoin so his hit cap without a debuff in raid is 447. Assuming he is in higher raids. Haste will benefit him more than spirit would on his cloak. Also he is standard cookie cutter destructoin with soul leech, so I recommend keeping Immolate, Incinerate, and Conflag glyphs instead of life tap because you will be gainign mana constantly back during the fights, and life typing once every 40 seconds will strain healers which you dont need to. Go to WoW Heroes - World of Warcraft PvE character info ratings and punch in your region, realm, and character name, then look at the recommended improvements. Right now your gearscore is 2013. Obviously you need better boots. And the following need enchants (they have none): Head, Shoulder, Pants. The following could use better enchants: Chest, Back, Weapon. Stat-wise you're not looking too bad. I like using wow-heroes because it has clickable upgrade suggestions for those enchants mentioned above. The drawback of the site, however, is it relies on the Armory, which is "forever in beta", and sometimes goes weeks without updating. |

Honestly, for destruction, I wouldn't even bother with Corruption in a normal rotation. It might be alright to do while moving, if you aren't life tapping then, but really don't worry about casting corruption otherwise. |

in an instance my rotation is: COE>Immolate>Conflag>chaos bolt Incinerate until Conflag is up, then chaosbolt should be up> incinerate>immolate should need reaplying > then repeat. Or if there are 3 or more mobs I use Seed of corruption then rain of fire. If 4 mobs I take time to tab through dropping COE on each one then light them up. For boss fights I use Curse of doom instead of COE. That's just me. I only use curse of agony & corruption on fights where I have to contantly move. Then I also keep immolate up & conflag when it's ready & use. Then either use incinerate or searing pain depending on whats going on. sometimes searing pain's faster cast keeps me from hearing "your target is dead" |

At your level of gear, I wouldn't go overgemming with a bunch of epics. There are some simple things you can do gearwise to boost dps: - As others have noted, you're over cap. Get rid of some of the +hit gems, or if you want to keep them for socket bonuses, socket an orange +hit/+sp or +haste/+sp instead. - Ignore useless socket bonuses. Unless the socket bonus is going to bring you something in excess of +7 SP or is something you'd get anyway because you want the gem (ie red socket), ignore it. - Get +50 or +65 SP on MH instead of Black Magic. That enchant has a cool name, but nothing more. - Rep enchants for head/shoulders and Brilliant Spellthread for legs. Get Greater Speed on cloak. - There are some relatively easy to get emblem upgrades for your boots and wrists. - replace the wand when possible - MP5 is pretty useless for you (although I understand this may have been an upgrade over what you had) - Consider getting rid of herbalism if you have all the money you need and picking up enchanting (for your rings), JC for unique gems or Inscription for the shoulder chant. - I would stick with your glyphs. Rotation's enough of a pain without Lifetap level 1 in it, but then again, it's up to you. Rotation isn't so big a deal (although you might drop corr), since it's more about refreshing as dots fall off and prioritizing spells once off cooldown. Priority should be: CoD, Immo, Conflag, CB, Incinerate. You might use Curse of Agony rather than CoD on shorter fights like most of those in heroics. Watch DoT clipping (although this is less of a problem than it is for Afflic). Better to let Immo fall off for a half second than to overwrite that last tick a half second early. I use Button Timers to watch this, which is a great mod if you don't use the Blizz UI. In addition - you may just be pushing out more DPS in instances that require less movement that have less interrupt mechanics or that you just feel more comfortable with. 4k in UK & UP is actually very good... I don't usually hit that just because with my group everything dies so quickly. |
