Re: what am i doing wrong
The first thing i would make sure you had was glyph of conflag that way your still getting the bonus damage from it for incinerate also what ive found is that a lot of people dont keep their curroption, Curse of Agony, and immulate up as a lock DoT is your best friends also be sure to keep track of cooldowns confrag and chaos bolt have same Cd so you should always cast them back to back no exceptions if that doesnt help i would look more into the glyphs your using |

Re: what am i doing wrong
my rotation is Immolate, Conflag, Chaos Bolt, Incenerate spam. Then use spells when they come off cooldown, priority being immolate up, next priority is conflag, and then cb and inc, pretty much your starting rotation. I also put up CoE if there is no equivalent in the group (boomkin, unholy dk) if there is i use CoD. I also roll with glyph of immolate instead of glyph of life tap but i don't know if one is better than the other. Your "2k" could be in question by what means you are using to measure your dps. This is just what i do btw. when i first started raiding destro i used corr and Curse of Agony too but then read not to. I think it helps to just focus on immo, conflag, cb, inc. good luck and have fun

For your spec, you shouldn't be refreshing Corruption or doing Curse of Agony. Both are weak DPS and a waist of a GCD meaning your DPS will be higher if you spend the 1.5 second GCD time on one of your destruction spells. Just look at WoW Meter Online - Combatlog Replay at warlocks who have you spec and do amazing DPS. How many Corruptions and Curse of Agony's do they throw? Next to none. Kraosis, you do not know what you are talking about. Curse of Agony and Corruption are only relevant to Affliction and Demonology Warlocks. For Destruction it is either CoE or CoD. CoD is only worth about 2-3% of your total DPS (based on the countless logs I've reviewed) so if no one else is doing the 13% spell increase damage debuff, then cast CoE. If you don't trust the person responsible for the 13%, cast CoE just to be safe or else your DPS will be low. The only time you might want to throw a Corruption is when you are moving and need to fill the time with something. But a Life Tap or a Shadowflame would be much more worthwhile if they make sense to use. Don't worry about movement instant casts until you get your main cast rotation down. As pointed out, Glyph of Conflagration is a must. For your spec you will want Glyph of Life Tap because you will not have the mana gain from improved soul leach. ISL will give you more DPS, but only once you get the hit rating. Speaking of hit rating, you need 1% more to be capped. Select the gems to get that 1% because that will increase your DPS more than any other stat until you are capped. Capped is 17%. You are at 9% + 3% (Suppression) + 3% (Assuming Misery from a Shadow Priest or Improved Faerie Fire from a Moonkin) = 15%. Missing a Conflagaration can be detrimental to your DPS because you won't proc Backdraft ability. Speaking of Conflageration, that is your number 1 priority. The key to high destruction DPS is hitting conflag as soon as it is off cooldown and procing Backdraft the maximum amount of times throughout a fight. Chaos Bolt is secondary to keeping Immolation up and hitting conflag every cooldown. There are a number of buffs/debuffs that will greatly effect your DPS. So your group make up and responsibilities for these buffs need to be taken care of by your raid leader (and to some extent yourself). They are: 5% Crit Buff - From Moonkin Aura or an Elemental Shaman's Elemental Oath 3% Haste Buff - From Moonkins or a Ret Paladin (not sure what is specifically called). 280 Spell Power Buff / 10% Spell Power Buff - Totem of Wrath / Demonology Warlock's Demonic Pact 13% Spell Damage Debuff - Curse of Element, Moonkin's Earth and Moon, Unholy DK's Ebon Plaguebringer 5% Crit Debuff - Warlock's Improved Shadow Bolt, Fire Mage's Scorch, or a Frost Mage's Winter's Chill. Looking over your gear and your item enchant level, there are so low level pieces still there. You are also using a healing trinket instead of a DPS trinket. Try to get either the Haste trinket from normal Trials of the Champion and/or the Hit rating trinket Mark of the War Prisoner (don't remember where that is from...ummm HoL?). With your current gear and enchant level I would expect you to be pulling no more than 3k dps. All of your low level items should be easy to replace in H ToC and normal ToC. Good Luck! -Pakku Edit: oops, you need 2% more. Re-gem until you get better gear and save everything that has +hit rating on it for each spot so that when you get a new item you can adjust to maintain a hit cap. Try to have a 17% and a 14% set to make up the difference when you do not have a Spriest or a Moonkin doing the 3% debuff. Quote:
