Hey there, if anyone has the time to help me out with thisid be a very happy chappy idd i believe i have over-average gear (check the armoury if you like ''magogz - xavius alliance'') but even on level 60 dummies i max at about 4.3k dps. I know that 1 problem is my low haste (314 -9.8%) and my stupidly high crit (32.39%) but can that be the only problem ? i plan to swap all my crit gems for haste asap. I also believe my talent build could be off by a small increment :o such as misplaced suppression points/IC points. Should i be using suppression points when my hit rating is at 13.04% solely from gear? where should i put the points if not! so much confusion :] Thanks for reading and i'll hope for a reply! Re: imba gear, low dps.. ouch
the dummies are great for working out rotations, but what is your dps in a raid? if you raid with a 4% hit buff (3% moonkin, 1% dranei), then you should drop suppression and improved shadow bolt to pick up fel dom and 1 rank of master summoner. also, i noticed the improved corruption talent points. your max dps rotation is CoD --> Immo --> Conflag --> CB --> Incin. there are schools of thought that say start the first rotation with Immo to proc your trinks / lightweave and then CoD so they benefit from the increased spell power. also, an alternative is to use CB before Conflag to cut down on that 1/2 second lag. alot of that depends on your server latency tho. the dummy would be a good test. i would also go ahead and pick up isl. when you are lifetapping, the healers usually appreciate it if you can heal yourself a little bit. you gotta pick up glyph of lifetap instead of chaos bolt. the sp bonus is just too good. i didn't run scale factors on your current gear, but from the scale factors i have seen on similar gear, you'll need to replace all your crit gems with spell power gems. the only one that would be close is your shoulders. the sp socket bonus might make it worth gemming a sp / haste orange gem. youll have to find your stat weights to make that call though. im guessing you are using skinning for the crit bonus. other professions give better spell power bonuses though. i would recommend dropping skinning and picking up a production tradeskill. they are all pretty close to even, but they do have some side bonuses. tailoring is prolly one of the better ones as you dont have to buy cloak or leg enchants. inscription would be good for you too as you wouldnt have to grind out the rep for the shoulder enchant you are missing. the ring enchants from enchanting are ok, but you have a long road ahead of you for that. if you arent into tradeskills i would recommend inscription. let us know what changes (if any) you make and how it improves.

hey raklus, i really appreciate the thought you put into the advice below! As it stands im very low on cash and im working hard to change that situation, so the gem improvements might not take place as soon as i would hope! As far as spellpower is concerned, im assuming im looking at reaching around 2500 unbuffed? I was thinking of maybe converting enchanting to JC to rectify this, but im not a massive profession fanatic so using your own words it will be a long road ahead! Concering rotation i currently use: CoE - corruption - immo - CB - conflag - incin Iv maxed out at 5.8k dps with this on koralon, but i will definately make a huge effort to break this habit and use your recommended rotation. The sole reason for glyph of CB was that it made my rotation much more efficient with cb + conflag returning at the same time (due to the half second lag on conflag), but your rotation wouldnt require that^^ in which case i'll replace it with glyph of LT. And i will fully take on the respec advice also! Anyways i will mark this thread and make sure to keep you posted on the improvements that are sure to occur!! Thanks again, Dave immediately with the only changes being glyph of LT and rotation, im up to 5k dps on the 60 dummy, im looking forward to following up the rest of the advice

Re: imba gear, low dps.. ouch
The dps increase is good news! I don't know that you are necessarily looking for a "goal" on spellpower. There is no cap on it and no point where having more does no good. The more you have, the harder your spells hit. The main concern though, is what gives you more dps. That's where the scale factors (aka stat weights) I mentioned come into play. Check out simulation craft @ simulationcraft - Project Hosting on Google Code. It will help you determine the stat weights for your current gear. When you look at gear to see what is / isn't an upgrade, you would add up all the stats with the adjusted weights. For example, after running this, you may come up with a spell power weight of 1.5 and a haste weight of 1.0. If you have 2 pieces, 1 with 30 spell power and 1 with 46 haste, you would choose the haste piece. 1.5x30 = 45 1x46 = 46 46>45 However, if the 2nd piece only has 44 haste, then the 30 sp piece is better. For CoE/CoD, look for a moonkin or unholy DK in your raid. If you have one, then use CoD as their debuffs and CoE don't stack and they have more benefit from theirs. If not, then you get stuck using CoE.
