Hello, I tried runing simcraft on my current setup (3/9 T9, see here wowhead) and i was kind of surprised. According to simcraft I should have around 8000 dps in raid. Well when I perform perfectly (= not forgetting LT, no telephoning etc) I have around 4000 dps in 10 man and around 5000 dps in 25 man, depending on boss. As 3000 dps is quite a difference I can't help wondering what I am doing wrong. I use standard rotation (LT, immolate, CoD, CB, conflag, conflag + keep immolate on), standard glyphs standard everything. Is a 3000 dps normal? My gear is missing a lot of haste and the last T9 piece, i know that I could certainly improve it - what i want to know though is if 3000 difference between simcraft and my dps is normal Thanks for answers! |

Simcraft simulates a 5 minute tank and spank fight, assuming you fully raid buffed if you go with the default settings. On fights that come somewhat close to this scenario (ignis if you don't get slackpotted, iron council) it is usually possible to come in within 10% of the simcraft numbers. Anything that makes the fight or your setup differ from the above defaults will make your actual dps result differ from the simcraft value... usually you'll be lower. If you compare to simcraft, at some point also your computer plays an important role. Do you maintain 15+ fps in a 25 man raid, e.g. when heroism is popped? Can you cast with a constant latency or do you have jumps that make you sometimes not cast the spell on time? Also, are you doing something that differs from the simcraft rotation, e.g. if you're on CoE duty? |

Re: simcraft dps values vs real values
Yea the the figure itself shouldn't be taken too seriously. Really the idea is how that figure will change between different gearsets, which is what most people use simcraft for primarily. |

How do I use simcraft to try different gearsets? I know how to run it pulling info from the armory. Is it possible to override a gear piece when using the armory data, for example using a different trinket? |

Your rotation is not standard. Use instead the following: CoE/CoD > Immo > Conflag > CB > Incinerate Use this as a priority casting and not a rotation. Always keep conflag and CB on CD. While keeping Immo on, NEVER clip the last DoT tick. Use CoD only when you have boomkin or Unholy DK present, otherwise go with CoE. You logged off with PvP gear/build, so I can't really evaluate them. You should use either a 0/13/58 ISL build or a 3/13/55 Suppression build (last one better IMO, but really depends on your gear). LT/Conflag/Incinerate glyphs. |
