Cant break 3-3.5K DPS
I dont understand it, in VOA flame, i can break 5.7 but now im at 3k-4k. TOC10 im about 3k or the 2nd to the LOWEST. i see other locks around me, with less gear pulling 2k+ more dps than me, in voa and most other raids. In the test relm, on a level 60 dummy, i pull 3.6k and i have end game gear, enchanted and gemmed. here is my wow head and im useing the 13/58 Hit capped at 400ish The World of Warcraft Armory i cast COE, than i cast Immolate, Conflagrate, Chaos Bolt, Incinerate, Incinerate, Incinerate, Incinerate, Incinerate, most likely toss up a lifetap and try to cast a corr along with another spell, same with death coil, some times i can get them both to cast at the same time with a spell. Help please! Ive seen a lot of posts about locks dps dropping 1k+ but i also see other distro locks with out any problems. how can a lock lesser geared than me out dps me? and mages, dont get me started there. 8K+... *frown* |

Well i can't see your armory cause it's down at the moment. But so far, i see a problem with your rotation. You should be casting : Life Tap > Curse of doom > Immolate > Conflagrate > Chaos Bolt and then fill with Incinerate. Make sure to always cast Conflagrate and Chaos Bolt as soon as it's off cooldown. Also you may be clipping Immolate or forgetting to apply it before you cast Incinerate. To monitor those, i would strongly suggest using Omni CC and Quartz (or something similar) if you don't already use that. To maximise dps when Heroism is cast i would suggest to you having a little Potion of Wild Magic or Potion of Speed. Gonna look at your amory as soon as it's up and try to help you a lil more then. |

From what ive been told you should be using CoE if you do not have a unholy dk or boomkin in raid to provide buffs. If one of them is in raid then use Cod if fight is goin to last a minute and use Curse of Agony otherwise. Dont quote me on that im no expert but i would definitely check into that |

i use forteXorcist from curse. its a lock specific spell timer. Main things are that it shows you your various spells on the target, If you have COD up on another target it greys it out slightly so you can see how long it has to run without targeting the mob. but the most useful thing is it shows you if a balance druid or unholy DK is putting up ebon plague or another lock is putting up coe at that moment so you can decide for yourself if you should be using COD or COE. i found that not all balance druids proc earth and moon and it saves you looking at the talents of every dk in the raid to see if they are unholy speced for ebon plague. its also got useful stuff like showing how long your SS has to go til its available, plays a noise when it drops off or when somebody dies with it on. you will always do more DPS in 25mans as you have more buffs available also if you dont have a warrior tank and the dps warrior doesnt know his stuff and not stacking sundre armour then the raids dps will go down a lot too. Remember also that for some fights you might find yourself having to things other than hit mobs running out of the bad stuff etc you might get that 4 times in one fight on one run but not at all on another. Its about moving efficiently and getting back on the mob and startting hitting it again. My DPS is always low on the faction champs i seem to attract the rogue and either hunters pet or fel puppy so i tend to be more in defensive mode keeping stuff off me and the other range/healers. I also find myself hitting totums a fair bit with a frustratingly small amount of time hitting the mob were trying to kill at the time. hope this helps, Ade |

Ok i just armored you and there's some minor things you could fix that would help your dps. First of all, change your meta gem to Chaotic Skyflare Diamond. I would also stack up some haste gem in your gear instead of all +23 sp. Second of all, you have one piece of t8.5 and 1 t9. What i would suggest is to get as soon as possible another t9 piece. The bonus set from that will give you more dps than any drop piece. I would also change your bracers. If you have acess to crusader orb, i strongly suggest getting the Bejeweled Wizard's Bracers. As far as the rotation, yes you gonna start off your first rotation with Life Tap. After that, just use it to keep the buff up. Also, make sure you make your pet attack. Don't laugh, i've seen some warlock forgetting to do that, thus resulting in lower dps! I've tested COD and COE over and over again and COD will always give you more dps than COE. With the gear score you have, you should have no problem pushing 5-6K. |
