help with dps dont know what i am missing
Ok, here is my gear: Profiler - Wowhead which isnt bad or anything. I am spec' 0/13/58 . And the rot i use is CoE/CoD (depending on the situation in raids) Immo-Conflag-CB-Innicerate (spam) until Conflag, CB and Immolate need refreshed. Yet i cant seem to close the gap in dps on our guilds regular raids. Our best lock does 6k dps easily and i hardly do 4k. Yet at dummies with self buff , flask , food and firestone i do like 4800 to 4900 when it peaks. I am over hit capped because there is no way to drop the extra hit until i get better or different gear. Maybe i am neglecting something somewhere. I just don't know anymore. Its frustrating the hell out of me. And its gotten to the point that i am second guessing my performance in raids, which in turn makes the raidleader mad at me, and make me feel worse. Anyhow some help would be appreciated sorry for the small vent. Kortia  |

Your haste is extremely low, you have sacrificed haste for crit, and as such have gimped yourself. |

ok so change gems around for haste , how low should i bring crit down or how much should bring haste up? Kortia |

Your stat priorites are as follows ..... 1 hit till capped 2 spell power 3 haste 4 spirit 5 crit 6 intellect Never gem for crit ot intellect and only gem for haste or spirit if you get a spell power socket bonus, and only then with a hybrid spell power/haste, spell power/spirit gem. How mush haste? Heck stack 600-700 if you can, just let crit fall where ever it does, it's pretty invaluable as gems and enchants go. |

wow thanks ill do that just now and change all gems to haste/sp or spirit/sp. can i have the meta gem of the helm the same or should i change that too. - Kortia |

darn i made it worse than it was :( would it be cool if you could go at this with me step by step. The gems i mean . I guess i can go back to 23 crit and 3% crit chance meta gem then . Quote:

my god, so much half useful help. If someone can do 5k dps on the target dummy and then only 4k dps in raids, the problem clearly doesn't lie in some gems. So it's totally useless to tell him he has too much crit, something he probably can't change that fast anyways. You have to work on your raid performance. Don't run all over the place all the time, only move when you have to, focus on executing your rotation. Use some raid analysis tools, recount/skada, combatlog replay tools (worldoflogs, wowmeteronline). If you want you can link some reports and we have a look at them Your gear is not the problem btw, if you want to get haste really easily, go farm ToC 5 man normal until you get the abyssal rune, and replace the crit trinklet with it. |

Well i change the gems again per your advice Evictoray, bought some potions of wild magic to use in raids besides the flask of the frost wyrm and currently working the trinket from Toc. I am now 2800 sp self buffed, over the hit cap and 362 haste. |
