3.2 Trying to Raise DPS - Little Success

Hello Everyone,

I'm glad I found this site. I've been trying to get my DPS up for some time with limited results. My disclaimer in this post is that I'm fairly new to caring about these stats, so my gear / rotation / spec / anything and everything may be totally dumb.

On test dummies and in tank & spank type situations, I'm only getting about 2500 DPS. This may be right for my stats, but I'm not sure. I'd like to know two things I guess: 1) Is that appropriate for my stats, and 2) what would your next few steps be to raise that number?

My current rotation is normally Life Tap > CoE > Corruption > Immolate > Conflag > CB > Incinerate. I'm careful to keep the DoTs up without clipping or delaying other spells / DoTs. My profile is at The World of Warcraft Armory. If anyone has any specific advice / steps, it would be greatly appreciated. Remember that I'm fairly new to trying to raise my endgame performance, so please forgive anything blatantly missing or wrong. Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,
Martin (Msft)

Not to be a smart aleck, but he post above yours "Good gear...bad DPS ". Basically is discussing the same thing, and it applies in your case.

1) Rotation - Drop Corruption outright. Throw it when you're running to position, or just need something to toss during movement phases, but it should not be a part of your "rotation"

2) Gear - Obviously you've got to fill in with what you've got, but the PvP gear kind of gives it away. If I were you, I'd hit ToC and H. ToC 5-man every day until you've got every piece that drops out of there. As the other post mentions, the Ulduar craftables are becoming much more affordable now that Runed Orbs are cheap, so I'd fill in as much of that level as you can.

3) Hit - Make sure you're at 368, and put 3 points into the Affliction tree Suppression unless you're not a raider. If you raid with a Boomkin or Shadowpriest, you can leave this out, but only if you're sure they're going to be alive the whole fight.
