complete dps railure
First off, ive studied immensely every bit of information i can find on my class. I am fairly well geared The World of Warcraft Armory . I use the 0/16/55 Dest spec. The World of Warcraft Armory I am also over hit cap with dranei in group. I do realize that i am using a pvp trinket, but do have "living flame" im working on that upgrade now. My problem is that i use the same rotation that msot of the locks on server are using. COD or COE, Imm, Conflag, Inc, CB. i have tried switching the CB between the Imm and Conflag etc. On target dummies i am pulling about 4.2k with imp taken out of phase shift and using the spellstone and Fel Armor. My Spirit is quite low which is why i do not use "Glyph of Lifetap" enstead i use "Glyph of Incinerate". I also throw the Curse of Agony up on movement fights as a mobile filler. I am overgeared to many of the people i am raiding with, yet they are outperforming me massively. I do also use Quartz cast bar and "Cooldowns" and "buttontimers". Also running this on a very high end gaming pc. I would so very much appreciate any and all input on what can be done to correct my dps issue. |

Hmm, sounds like you have covered most the bases ( not checked gear / enchants ). What i did not hear you about is gemming and enchanting. Do you have maxed gems, and enchants ( they do make quite a difference ) Also, you may have the rotation right, but do you also NOT clip your spells ? In most cases where people do have all gear / gems / enchants correct, the diff is in rotation and clipping. Clipping is a trick you have to practice. Time your spells so you dont clip at all, or cast finishes just after the last tick of your dot. Better to do 1 more filler then 1 clip.

what zaeolos said, except I would say his second point (gems) isn't that much of an issue. On top of that: 8. use the Firestone, not Spellstone 9. probably you could adjust to the default destro spec (0/13/58) 10. Use CoE on the dummy, CoE or CoD in raids. As zaeolos pointed out, there's probably never a point where you should use Curse of Agony, since it wipse out one of the other curses 11. You have your imp un-phase shifted in raids? My gear is similar to yours, maybe slightly better (more haste and better trinklet). I can do 5.5k dps on a dummy over 3-4 minutes. Not sure how accurate this is, since there's a lot of randomness with crits/no crits, but you should try to reach 5k there. Pervlock pointed out some possible issues. Do you cast conflagrate/CB immediately after they come off cooldown? Is your immolate uptime close to 100%? |

My first choke on the post is that i called this thread a "railure" scooby doo talk i guess you could call it for "failure". Woopsie... I meant to say corruption, not curse of agony on the move also.. As far as my enchants go, ive taken all spellpower enchants including spellpower to cloak with "parachute cloak" -engineering. and also the "nitro boots" with the crit and run speed increase. I am at a complete loss as far as gems go since im told to not worry about bonuses as much as the overall spellpower increase. Well its definately going to be expensive but im going to take your word for it and replace the gems with the appropriate gems for socket bonuses. I do throw my chaos bolt between the immolate and conflagrate due to the pause between the two also. I use the appropriate coe or cod depending on boomie , other lock, etc. I was told to take impy out of phase shift as well, completely unsure why.....Engineering and mining, not the best professions i agree, but i did choose them when i started the game and just never changd to anything else. although i am considering taking on enchanting. As far as clipping dots etc...i do on occasion clip a dot now and then. So what im taking so far now is to get the socket bonuses active, replace the immolate glyph with lifetap. I thank you for taking the time to aid me here. I'll give the results soon. |

From what I see the haste is really holding you back. Also even though the 4 set t9 bonus is nice, the stats really suck imo and aren't really set up for destro locks. You should use a firestone and try to get more gear with haste on it, 99% of the top destro locks I have looked at, as well as almost all of them on my server have at least 20% haste. Yes obviously it goes up with totem buffs and whatnot but it should be the main thing you focus on. You don't want to go crazy with it and have like 700+ but somewhere in the 600-650 range means your dps will go up. |
