MF'N Starcraft 2

Nearly a decade has passed since the original Starcraft changed the face of computer gaming. Just yesterday, Blizzard announced the sequel.

I'm so excited, I'm shaking. I'm so glad they didn't attempt to make this an MMO, and stuck with the classic RTS feel.

Let's talk Starcraft!

Re: MF'N Starcraft 2

Yeah, but we will probably wait a long time before it comes out. I saw the 20 minutes protos gameplay trailer... and the animations are awesome.

They are not changing the style of old starcraft much.

Also, aslo, I'm really curious how the Zerg/Protos hybrids will look and how powerfull they are, for whom Duran is really working, and will we see Xel'Naga.

I have never been so excited about a game in my life. SC was, and will always be, my first true love. I'm gonna load it up after memorial day and play through it all again. Also, no stealing my sig.

*starts counting the days till release...*

Re: MF'N Starcraft 2

I'm afraid while I admit Blizzard in some way owns EVERYBODY's soul, that I'd be more excited by fallout 3 (which would have worked NWN style) though eharing that became an MMO, well, that excited me more than SC2. But then I suck at RTS in the reasource based vein especially, I do much better at RPG stuff and fallout 2 was perfect, jaded, cynical, and not afraid to mock things, though I'm amazed BI didn't become "fair game" after the whole hubologist thing.

Looks sweet though.

Re: MF'N Starcraft 2

If it weren't for the original Starcraft, I wouldn't be here today. My friends, I am here to admit to you today that I am a Starcraft Addict.

Wow.... it feels so good to get that off my chest.

Re: MF'N Starcraft 2

Not sure I'd go as far as to say I was a Starcraft "addict", but that's only because I came into it very late. I will say though that I have thoroughly enjoyed it in the past and have spent a few nights either side by side, or against my partner.

I...I... I am a Zergling fan however *ducks* can't play anything else. And I will be giving #2 a go for sure!

I loved all the Diablos! But i dont feel ready for a double gaming addiction just yet - wow takes up too much time already.

I even had the expansion for D1 that was very bad and had the worst new class ever - the monk.

Might give SC2 a go as i never got round to playing the orginal - looks good!

Re: MF'N Starcraft 2

SC 1 was sooo fun when i played it and all the editors and extra maps made it all delicious, but then i found D2 and went to that for a while. SC2 omfg, hope they dont scrap it... also the storyline wasnt too amazing or good but to me it just seems like blizzard doesnt put too much in storyline (they do but in other games it sticks out more, like FFX, with sc seems like they made missions then did storyline) though would be nice knowing who the higher power that duran works for and (on the bonus mission, those like mutant zergs?) but xel'naga woudl be great to see them, kinda reminds me a bit of cnc3 and the scrin are xel'naga cept xel'naga aren't bent on expanding and expanding and destroying...
edit: i also got into sc late because a relative showed me computer copy then i bought it later (didnt it come in 1998 or something? coz i think i got shown in 2000) and i also even had the nintendo copy and that as the only game i found a cheat in (the 1 on a tassadar mission, you edge towards that guy then storm him just in the distance then you get some cheat like godmode or infin money or somethin) cept pokemon yellow, yes i played it, where i could control pikachu only and run on water swim on land weeee it is a nice rts game and it got me into the whole rts genre (if you like rts games then supreme commander is like part 2 of an old rts game like sc, just you can control a LOT LOT LOT more units than measley 200.
