Do some poking around for the game Hellgate: London. It is made by the people that did the Diablo games. I think the story is something like they got pissed off at how blizzard was treating them, or taking too long or something and then they all left and started Hellgate: London. I saw a teaser for ita while back and it looks reallllly nice.

Also, aslo, I'm really curious how the Zerg/Protos hybrids will look and how powerfull they are, for whom Duran is really working, and will we see Xel'Naga.

Are you sure this wasn't one of the rumors? I haven't seen anything official about a new hybrid race.

I played SC from the beginning. I remember when Blizzard had to patch SC so that a win in under 2 minutes would count as a draw because the Zergling rush was unstoppable by the "slow" races. They were much more balanced later on, but ridiculously cheap when the game first came out. I enjoyed playing all three races, but Terran was my specialty.

What made SC great was how different yet balanced the three races were. From the sounds of things, Blizzard is working to make the races even more distinct in SC 2, and I'm sure they will find a balance eventually if not at release. Sounds like it will be a classic.

@Debuff: The Zerg/Protoss hybrid's existance is not a rumor. There is a bonus mission in Brood War about them, but I don't know if they'll be be appearing in SC2, but I'm pretty sure they will.

Man, I need to find my SC CD'S now, I feel an urge to play it again.

I was addicted. I used to sit up all night playing online. I can still tell you my opening build order for 'toss. That game single handedly spurred my love of computers, and has affected my whole life. I can't wait to get addicted to it all over again.

You can buy the Starcraft Warchest (includes Starcraft and Brood Wars) for 20$ pretty much anywhere. I just went and picked it up because I couldn't find my old disks.

The hybrid species is indeed taken from a bonus mission. At present, there is not going to be a fourth race released with SC2. <speculation> However, it seems likely that the storyline of SC2 could expand on this, and the fourth race could see play time in the storyline. Also, there is the possibility that a fourth race would be a major feature of any expansion that could be added</speculation>

@whoever said SC had no story... I have to say you must've missed out on a lot. Not only was the story engrossing, but the briefings/cinematics/scripted events were probably the best in any RTS. The story was essential to the campaign design, and it showed. The game played out like a book, with cliff hangers and twists in all the right places. Name one other RTS ever made that had people playing 'just one more level' because they wanted to know how the story progressed?

I own Starcraft and never remember finishing it. Oh well I don;t see me getting SC2 unless there is really no other game out, which is pretty doubtful

I would of loved to see another Diablo that game I always enjoyed, well when someone was nice enough to help me out

I never had the honor of playing SC1 but if anyone could tell, my name implies obsession with D2. i think i should die a happy man if they were to even announce the making of a d3. That being said, i really hope to get ahold of SC2 but my WoW addiction is totally consuming.
