Loading Bar is full and then Comp Restarts?
As everyone knows, Blizzard forums are hardly useful, and I cannot find anyone with my same problem...
I will click the WoW icon, log in, select my character, and the loading bar will become full and then my computer will restart. Once the servers are back up, I can change it so that it doesn't restart and gives me a BSoD with an error message...but heres something else... Blizzard told someone else to try to run WoW in a window and it worked like a charm for about a week and a half...but last night it started resetting my computer again! Anybody know what to do? |

Try running the repair utility. Also, if you have low amounts of system RAM, try closing all other applications before you start wow.

"The problem shouldn't be RAM because I bought a RAM stick not too long ago and put it on the computer, etc, etc."
Even more reason to test your RAM. I am no expert by any means but sounds to me like Video Driver/card, or Direct X problem. When you get a BSoD the system should be creating a log file of the faulting module or device. |

Re: Loading Bar is full and then Comp Restarts?
Ok, how do I go about testing my RAM? And I honestly don't see how it can be my Video Card or Direct X, all that is up to date and stuff. Technically, my graphics card is one that is 'unsupported' by blizzard, and yet, I made it to level 70 without problems with it.
But, how do I test my RAM and what do I do if something is wrong? EDIT: Didn't realize the WoW servers were up, running the Repair Utility now Last edited by Ractome; July 17, 2007 at 10:18 AM. Reason: WoW Servers Up |

just a blind suggestion, check the site for updates on you driver, and any problems that may be associated with the most recent update.
my drivers were up to date, but there was always an error when i played wow, it would go to a black screen every 10 seconds or so. i installed an older driver 'update' and solved the problem. |

I have had friends with this problem couple more things to check, make sure you don't have any addons active, cosmos and pearl if out of date can dump a system. And in worse case allot of time down loads warped a file dump all of wow and re load it it might take an after noon but if it helps ... *shrug*

Re: Loading Bar is full and then Comp Restarts?
Drivers(update all of them), Windows Updates, Bad components(RAM, HDD has bad sectors, failing PSU), other programs causing conflicts(close everything that you dont need, and another thing that comes to mind would be a heat issue. Ever looked at your fan(s) to see if they were 'caked' in dust?
Just some thoughts |
