Re: Races
EA gets you out of a lot of cc, basically anything that doesn't cause loss of character control (eg, not a Stun, Fear, Sleep, Charm effect):
Frost Armor Slow Frost Nova Druid Root Hamstring Earthbind Totem Frost Shock Concussive Shot Frost Trap Crippling Poison |

Re: Races
I've been playing an Undead Warlock for about two and a half years now, and it was one month ago I decided to go for the better PvP racials, I rolled an Orc Warlock. I'll be playing 2v2 arena with a Troll Shadowpriest. We'll need to take down our foes fast with the setup, but that shouldn't be much of a problem.
I mean, we can crowd control any healers with great efficiency. - Shadowpriest Silence - Shadowpriest Blackout - Troll priest Hex of Weakness (-20% healing curse) - Felhunter's Counterspell - Shadowpriest's Psychic Scream - Warlock's Howl of Terror - Warlock's Death Coil - Warlock's Fear - Warlock's Curse of Tongues. And of course these two classes increase eachother's damage output greatly. If you plan to stay Alliance, I won't be able to help you much. If you wish to PvP however, I strongly recommend you roll an Orc. Will of the Forsaken is a great PvP talent, but it doesn't top 3 PvP potential talents. 25% stun resistance (15% from the talent, 5% base, 5% from a metagem), 5% pet damage, and 15 seconds of spelldamage boost. |

Re: Races
I'm going to rock the boat now.
Racials are great, don't get me wrong, but in the end no character needs his racials. I mean if they were neessary everyone would have them. They are just... there. They'll push you a little bit further but race stats and abilities are just frosting. The thing you will want to ensure most is making sure you can live with your character. Choose a race you like the look feel, voice and depending how long you'll spend at level 1-20 (not long I hope) starting area for. You have to live with it. |

Re: Races
I honestly must admit that I really do miss my Undead racials when I am on other characters. Especially being PvP ganked. Many times I saved my self from multiple corpse ganking course the cannabelize. A quick nibble on their corpse made sure I got my health back up and so my HS (or it was) on CD. Will of the Forsaken I also took for granted. Until I got other characters. That said, I hardly use the Blood Elf Racials. And the Gnome? Well. Better not talk about that. I haven't got an Orc so I can't comment there. |

Re: Races
I use escape artist quite often. Makes you much harder to control. Also, an advantage of being a gnome is being harder to target and much easier to hide.
Does anyone know how much of a difference the increase in int is at 70? |

Re: Races
Hi to all, I'm a fresh new member interested in this discussion cause since last weekend I started to be confused... let me explain.
I started in july or august, don't remember exactly to roll up a BE Lock but when I was 14 I said: "wait a minute, something wrong, this PG is not going on so well". So I rolled back and made a new BE Lock also because look at the look and feel and to the racial attitude it was supposed by me like the best choice for a lock. Now I'm 21 and satisfied for the status of my PG but anyway since that damned weekend something it's started to rolling through my head... a small word... undead, undead, undead... and know after some month of BC I wonder to really see that UD Lock is still let's say the best lock ever? I have to say glory to the horde so I don't care about the ally side... where is the truth? I'm quite close to restart again with an UD this time... I read that everybody are quite in according on the undead valuability as lock but regarding BE, one pro, one let's against... I don't know, maybe I'm too n00b but BE looks at me still as the best race, cause of more mana available since the beginning, cause of the +5 resistance on all category, etc. etc., let's say BE seems to be a more magics oriented race or maybe I'm convinced so beacause I don't really know what does it means, have a lvl70 PG? What uneasiness, what to do? Go ahead with my actual BE. Nihilum's locks have choosen mainly UD; could be this the answer? I don't mind about how much cool I look but how much good lock I am, this is my first character so I'll love and I'll remember it for life as my first kiss... so I'd like to find out the best choice. Thank you guys |

Re: Races
I played a troll shaman when I started. Trolls can't play warlocks, mores the pity. I chose warlock to fill the void in my guild's 40 man raid spots. I chose orc before the boost to spellcasting from bloodfury. I just liked orc as race. Now as a raiding lock in BC, bloodfury makes me giddy. I chose to be the Demonology lock for our guild for leo, and permanent place. That makes orc great too.
Alliance always seemed to attract too many immature kids for me. Yes they can play, but the socialization was retarded. I always liked playing the underdog as well so horde just fit. Mature players, and fighting against overwhelming numbers! If choosing again today, I'd say orc again. |
